I recently installed the Power Pack 2 onto a '16 GTPP and in the process broke one of the ears off of the upper section of the air box.

Fordparts.com does not show an individual part number for the upper section of the air box, nor a price. It is as if that section only comes with purchase of the complete box while the lower section of the air box can be purchased individually.

This air intake is identical to the ones on the S550 GT350.

Does anyone know of a way to purchase this part individually?

Does anyone with an aftermarket air intake have an OE box they are willing to part out?

Unfortunately Ford sells it as an assembly. You will have to find a used one or someone selling a take off.

They break when you remove the airbox????

I've taken mine on and off with no issues at all. It's like 4 screws and it lifts right out.

That's just the upper.
The airbox assembly has 1 bolt holding it in: 17C481.

I had to remove the air box after I installed it (not yet bolted in) to free up some stuck wiring. 9P686A bites into the mounting hole really, REALLY well and the broken ear just couldn't withstand the force of 9P686A.
(The airbox upper, airbox lower, and duct came in already assembled, it wasn't until after the ear snapped that I found they come apart easily).

I'm going to stop by my dealership and see if they can get one... if not, LocTite plastic epoxy should work.

It's unlikely the dealership will just sell you one part. They will try to sell you the whole assembly. Your option is to find it off a junk yard (also very unlikely). Most people here still have their stock air intake box on. Even if they have an aftermarket intake box, it's unlikely they will give theirs as they like to keep stock parts for when it's time to sell.

Your only best options are buying the whole assembly or plastic epoxy.

I guess the part that doesn't make sense is:

why sell the lower by itself if you don't sell the upper by itself? Obviously they are separate pieces that exist in two different bins in an assembly plant.

Remember. Ford also told me that I couldn't enable factory RKE on my 2008 F250. They apparently don't know their own stuff.

you can tell by the picture you posted. everything with the yellow square is serviced as the 9600, parts available seperately have their own base number in blue.

it doesn't always make sense. Sometimes parts come apart yet they are only sold with something else.
