I seen threads. But, how many threads are back to back with every intake out there? Like you said they become a pissing contest. IMO they are all done by guys who only like a certain intake or sell a certain intake. By best intake what's that to some people? Is it what makes the most power? Or is it one that doesn't heat soak the most? For me the best intake is one that stays most consistent for my street use and doesn't heat soak to all hell.

I'd like the increased intake sounds of a CAI (JLT or Ford Performance). BUT, the heat soak in 100+ degree F summers in traffic is a very big real world concern. Actual performance gains just might be a net negative in 120+ degree engine heat soaked intake air?

Who said they don't heat soak?? Please reread what I wrote. What I'm saying is what the best intake to you or him etc isn't to me. A intake that doesn't heat soak the most such as a air raid is one of the best to me. When people say ohhh JLT is the best. Why? In what terms is it "the best." When a thread like this is made, it needs to be more specific it terms of what it's being used for. Most power? Street use? Etc is what I'm saying.

Does anyone actually have proof that one intake makes more than the other? Of course if you work for steeda your going to say your intake. Has anyone done back to back testing in same conditions on each intake?

Nope but the only one I've seen anyone show gains at the track was when Derek@Lethal tested a Pmas intake. He consistently picked up around 1.5mph DA corrected.

Heat soak is a non issue tuned on E-85. My car pulls harder once it's really hot and it doesn't pull any timing based on iats in my tune.

Well most guys on here probably aren't using e85. That's more or less a different story. E85 helps with keeping things cooler, but a filter n air intake will still heat soak.

The one with the least mass will shed heat quickest after heatsoak . They will all heatsoak just like the stock manifold . I've tested a few and kept one

JLT with a LUND flex fuel tune gets the job done and done well

You're running 11 flat with E85 tune, headers, CAI and the 350 manifold? Drag radials also I presume.

How big a difference is the E85 tune vs a premium? And can you still use regular gas with the E85 tune or do you have to revert it when not running E85? Any dyno numbers? I wasn't aware these cars would get that quick with this kind of setup.

Yes most on here are not running E-85 but you brought it up and you are on E-85 lol.

My car on E-85 vs 93 feels like it gained just as much as my 93 tune did over stock.

What I'd like to see is a before/after 91 octane comparison of Lund/Intake., no other changes. Actually, I'd like to see only the tune's gains, 91 octane.
