Maybe the cars that were to be unloaded in Melbourne were all blocking yours in, and had to come off the boat first?

That would explain why it still went to perth even though that order was cancelled.

My car was originally bound for a perth order - dont know when it was cancelled.

If someone cancels an order and you are next in the queue, this means you have now accepted to take the delivery of the car booked by someone else from some other place in Australia.
Ford does not make any changes to the destination port originally set for the order. This is done locally once the car has been delivered at the original destination port.
Our car was delivered to PK and then trucked by Prixcar to QLD because we picked up a cancelled order and saved 1 month wait.

Dropped into the dealer this morning to check how things are going, I ordered in April and got order number a couple weeks back. Dealer tells me if you order a mustang now the wait is quoted at about 7 months and also that dealers will start to receive stock allocations. Dealer showed me on the computer mine is build number A something (maybe, I should have paid more attention to the number) anyway due for January build and April delivery so bang on 12 months.

Getting closer my car has now left Adelaide!

So it has gone by rail from Flat Rock to Baltimore. Ship to Brisbane, then Port Kembla (my stop), then Melb, then Perth.

Unloaded at Perth probably got Trucked somewhere - Perth International Airport then a dealer in WA(this bit may not have happened but was in the initial Prixcar tracker)...

Then trucked back to Perth int'l... sat there for about a month. Then truck to Rail terminal in WA and on a train ride to Adelaide. Then loaded onto a truck again.

It's second last leg will be to Prixcar depot in Minto in NSW which is 1.5 hour north of Port Kembla. Then I suspect onto another truck for a return ride south to me! :frusty::frusty:

Talk about missing the destination! They should have loaded it on a plane at the airport to complete the trifector!

If only I could have picked it up in Adelaide, it would have been a nice drive back via Great Ocean Road and the snowys!

Quick question, once the car arrives at the dealers, how soon after are people generally driving it away?

It all depends on how much work goes in to predelivery. If you have a lot to be done then you will wait longer if not then you will be quick but you need to take into account how many other cars they have to push out with yours too.
