Strange one, but just wondering, so I can justify my mod toy spend; what is the average mod spend from stock?

I know for some of you it may be a bit difficult to put a price on this, but darn it, there are just soooo many mods you can do to a Stang... The variety and range are endless it seems...

Im thinking around £2k... Is that about right?

Think most people on here have spent more than that
for me
around £1400
Exhaust
Dress up stuff for the engine
Boot mat
duel rear light system,
spare wheel
number plate
and a few other bits

From a quick tot-up... I appear to have spent over £5K so far, and think I'm going to finish up around £6K... and I don't even pick the bloody car up until a week on Saturday (it arrived at the dealers about 4 days short of me going on holiday here in US where I appear to be binge spending on parts at the moment).

Lots of expensive bits in that spending though like coilovers, 20" wheels, MPSS's, exhaust (that lot's near £4K alone).

Edit: Having seen a few Roush Stage 2's and 3's in some of the Ford dealerships here in the US, there's also a couple of grand worth of other stuff I've seen that has peaked my interest... so who knows where this might end (other than bankruptcy court)... :eyebulge:

I'm probably at ~£1.1k:
AB exhaust
Coolant tank, oil catch can
Filter and MIT
Oil change

And that's it, finished;)

Got a big suitcase and a generous baggage allowance? ;)

This came up in a thread a little while ago and I was around the £3k mark then so another £300-ish on top of that...and counting...

Cool, so 2k is on the lower end... Great, can justify it the Mrs. :headbang:

I guess, realistically no matter how much we wish, there will never be a return of our mod investment, unless of course you re-sell them at a later date... Yes/no?

All my previous cars that have been modded, I've returned to stock on trading in/selling. Always been able to sell the mods on.

But £2k is on the mild side of modding these cars, once you get the sound and suspension sorted (that'll be £2k + all day long), then there's wheels/tyre upgrades, followed by power upgrades.

I would guesstimate, that I'll be £5,6-7kmin when I think I'll be finished, then there'll be something else that I'll want for it.

Don't forget to take into account fitting/removal costs when factoring your spend, we're not all lucky enough to have access to ramps etc.

I've spent around £1500, but will probably hit £2k on mods by end of Nov, with DRLs, and Carbon dipping imminent.

When I lived in the us one of the mustang mag ran a survey and the typical average yearly spend on mods for mustang owners was 5000 bucks per year . You can see why the after market is so big out there

Required a trip round Lowes and Home Depot to buy some heavy duty shipping/packing boxes etc. etc,... couple of the bits too big to fit in a case (BMR front subframe brace, lower front grille, rear tailgate panel).

I'm sure it will be a generous allowance by the time I've paid for it... but I'll flutter my eyebrows at the lady on check-in (or just hide and get the wife to flutter hers if it's a bloke)!

so far i have spent around £3.5k, there is still another 4k i want to spend on wheels, suspension and splitters. and that's before i have even started looking at powertrain mods. mine is going to be a huge money pit for years :')

Honestly, I wouldn't worry about what others are spending on mods - spend what you want to make the car what you want :)

In many cases, you can keep the original parts and thus return the car to stock when and if you decide to upgrade to MY '18 or'19 !

Some mods (such as rear diffuser) do require modification to body panels and thus will not be so easy to reverse.

Make the car your own - enjoy the process!
