I'd also check to see that the filter is torqued down to spec

No leaks for me. I haven't been on track with my car, and my spirited driving probably isn't that spirited. I've done my own changes and torque the filter to spec, and recheck (cold) 100~ miles after each change.

Are you sure the leak is coming from the filter housing? Could it be from the fittings going to the oil cooler? Could it be any of the crimps on the lines to/from the cooler? There's recall on the crimps on these oil cooler lines, if you weren't aware. I hadn't seen it mentioned in this thread yet.
I checked the lines and fittings and they're dry. The filter itself was covered with oil each time I inspected it, and it looked like there were streaks starting at the seal area. So, I concluded a leaking filter / bad seal.

I think someone said but remove it and check the mating surface, I'd replaced the filter also

No leaks. I did the only oil change, used a torque wrench+filter adapter

No leakage after 2 oil changes. (Self-serve of course). I had to pull the belly pan last night to retrieve a socket and a couple of fasteners I had dropped into the abyss. While it was off, I checked for leakage and any fasteners that might be missing on the splitter. Happy to say all was dry.

You're lucky, usually whatever falls from up top doen't make it all the way down.

My filter is still torqued to spec with no oil leak. I did my own O/C at 600 miles.

Thanks for all the replies; the good reports are better than I expected.

As I described in the OP, I personally TQ'd the filter to spec twice before removing it for the recent oil change. After the first time it came loose, and after torquing it again, it was tight enough that I needed channel locks to break the filter free, but it was still leaking. So, it was leaking after the dealer install, and it was leaking after I had tightened on two separate occasions.

I can't rule out the possibility that the dealer tech did not oil the gasket before install, and I can't absolutely rule out at the moment that there's not some defect on the mount seating surface. I oiled the gasket for the new filter and tightened it to 24 NM--the max torque spec noted on the filter. I'll inspect it again this coming wknd to see if there's oil on the filter.

And, as I mentioned in an earlier post, I specifically inspected the lines for leakage but did not find any.

Mines dry too, but I was watching him do the change and made sure he torqued to 18 FP. I also noticed before the change that my car, in 350 miles (That's all I could muster in 8 days) didn't register any loss of oil.

Over 12K miles and four oil changes later and no issues at all with my R.
