Thanks for the review and posting the videos Shane!
Great stuff:clap2:

The specter of limp mode looms again...

Just a thought, if you're able to push it to limp mode in the future, you might want to consider doing so to find out where it might be for your car. FP will tell you it's a protective mode and will not cause damage (for what that's worth). Also, from what I've read, LM is variable with some GT350's predictably hitting it and other's never hitting it. Limp mode limits to 5,000 RPMs so you shouldn't slow down to 25 mph...just a thought...

I have hit limp mode on the autobahn and that's not the whole story. You can rev, but there is no power. It takes minutes to reach 40mph with no hills.
Sucks..

Driving that course is something I'm definitely going to do in my life. That would be an awesome experience.

I'm with you there, I'm considering planning my trip for next summer. There are several places you can rent cars from at relatively reasonable prices.

Thanks for sharing!

Sorry I missed you. Pulled in Saturday afternoon. PCS'ing north, so car was full, to include the dog; had to play spectator. Couldn't juggle the logistics well enough to make a run.

Linked up with "Julio" and his crew. Impressive array of cars that rolled in from France--GT350, Porches galore, M3, C7... Great guys. Several combined ring taxi run with individual runs.

Hotel room overlooked start/finish of the Grand Prix track. Current focus is on PCS, but planning a Spring run. Hope to be able to link up for it.

Closer to Spa now too. Adding that to the list.

This was indeed an interesting experience!
First time at the ring for me.

If you go there I highly recommend the taxi Ring, which for us was an E92 M3 with modified suspension and brakes (and a pilot with more than 3000 laps under his belt). It was just immense for our first time ever on the Nordschleife. I've been impressed by pilots on other tracks before, but this is a different league !
Videos just don't do it justice as you miss all the different road surfacing, crazy cambers and gradients...

Did one lap as a slow tourist with the Shelby, and yes the splitter can handle the carrousel :clap2:

Enjoyed a lot the autobahn to get there as well :-) with our nice convoy :) - (CL65AMG clear winner on this exercise)

And we finally met with Caballus !
- I remember this guy admiring Caballus' car and then I said "you know I also came down with my GT350?". Him to reply "ah, ok"... We leave to see my car on another car park and 5 minutes later the same guy appears.... He literally followed us thinking I was BSting him : "I had to check cause there is no way you have 2 GT350s on the Nurburgring today"

PS: I am waiting for the official pictures from racetracker, sorry for the logos...

What an experience !!

I was lucky to ride the ring taxi on the track. It was a BMW M5. I had zero appreciation for BMW's UNTIL I rode in that car. unbelievable. We were passing Porches, and other sports cars with ease.

interesting day for us. we were the first ring taxi ride of the day. he had to take the first few corners easy as they were in the shade and still had due on the track. shortly he opened it up.

He slowed at a section near the graffiti and mentioned the "Taliban" had put cooking oil on this section of the track. Obviously not the Taliban, but some tools did do that! we rounded the corner and came across a club with open wheel english sports cars ( forget the model) and one had spun in the oil and tagged the wall. was leaning on the bent wall in despair with a trashed car next to him. an expensive day for him
our ring taxi ride was an experience of a lifetime. hope to get back
saw every possible super car/ sports car that day.
the best image ( lost the pic) was a row of about 8 GT3's with the drivers standing there, with their tea sitting on their rear spoilers waiting to head out.
