I have purchased AMR wheels for American Muscle in the size of 18x9 with a offset of 30. They recommend a tire of 255/45/18. They do sell a 275/40/18 that is would like to install in a squared set up. AM says that although it will fit with no rubbing issues the mustang was not set up to have such an aggressive setup and the car will not handle properly.

I am looking at this fitment for looks only and have no interest in tracking/racing the car. I have read all over this forum of wide tires on the front and have not heard of any issues.

What differences can I expect in everyday driving?

Thanks!

Feels the same with less push in the corners as long as you go with a sticky tire. Car handles better IMO with a square setup. I went 275/40r19 and don't regret it a bit. Fits perfect.

Thanks for the feed back. AM says no issues the tire fitting on the wheel and recommend it for the rear is I want to staggered. Just not the front because of the driving setup...

You can fit a 275 on a 9" wheel but I don't think the car isn't going to handle as well because of the flex. Need a 9.5-10" rim for that.

That's the dumbest thing I've heard in a long time.

Tell that to all the road racers running 285s and wider up front about how their car does not handle properly...

275 and a 9" can work without a issue if you want.
Will a 285/35R19 work on 9.5" x 19" 38mm as a square setup? I prefer a bit of tire bulge to protect the rim from my wife and curb rash, or will the fronts rub? If not I'll go staggered.

It won't rub. I'd get a more aggressive offset though. My old rims were the exact same setup and when I put them on my 16 they were super tucked in. 30 at the very least 25 would look better.

You need a tad bit more of a lower offset.
