Has anyone switched out there track pack screen and buttons to the tech pack screen and toggle switches? Wondering what are the part numbers and cost of doing this? Is it even possible to do with the oem parts or do we have to look at after market ?

Saw this and got me thinking. He uses all oem parts

Like you yourself posted, that guy is selling OEM units and has all the coding figured out. (Not that we haven't figured out alot of it anyway in the Forscan threads.)

It's spendy, but if you want it, there it is.

I like to disassemble things.
I'm working with Jesse on this for my '16 Track Pack car. He has assured me that everything will work aside from there not being a second zone for the dual zone climate control, which our cars don't have anyway. When done, both the steering wheel or dash toggles will work.

I cannot wait to pull the 4" screen and swap it with the larger unit along with having navigation. I would have ordered it this way were we given the option on Track Pack cars in '16.

Any idea how much this will cost you?

Jesse is gathering up the parts and is probably in a better position to comment on price than I. The conversion obviously isn't cheap but in the context of having a Tech Pack car and trying to add Track Pack coolers, etc, I'm content. I knew when I bought my Track Pack car that I'd be doing the swap. I plan on a writeup that lays everything out.

If you're interested in doing this with him be aware that it takes time to get the parts. It took a few weeks just to obtain the proper dash bezel from Ford as it seems they are in no hurry to produce some of the requisite hardware.

The guy in the Video spent 2k.. I have sold many kits to people on here and all have loved them..

I don't understand spendy.. They are OEM parts.. Have you priced OEM parts lately.. The bezel is expensive.. You gain auto climate controls,, I don't know.. 60+k car and 2-2500 is not a lot in terms of what you get..

That's not bad at all. In fact, 2k is very reasonable if that included the cost of installation. It's cheaper than what the Electronics Option costs on the '17 cars.

Yes, I agree. I'm interested, but things need to settle down a bit for me before I can jump in. I would be especially interested if all original parts could be retained in case the car is ever sold.

No wire is cut.. nothing is modified.. you pull the stuff out and go back 100% to how the car came to you... it is a "TRUE" plug in install.. not 1 wire changed or cut...

I think this is the best option.. obviously I am biased... but you go aftermarket and the thread is there to read... this is all ford parts.. everything works together as intended... The bezel is a real Ford bezel.. it does not require you to gut the old one.. this one plugs right in.. and gives you auto climate that you can control through screen or voice or bezel..

If anyone has questions.. just email.. Email is best..

Thanks

Thats great! Now what about the antennas for gps (for nav) and #or satellite radio? I havnt looked, so I am not sure if they are installed already. I wouldn't want to drill/screw to mount antennas

Thanks!

You do mount them.. I have a install video in a GT mustang that covers everything.. but I double stick the antenna down under the panel in the center.. thats where the factory GPSM is.. and thats where I have always put the SAT radio if you choose SAT radio and the required GPS antenna for Sync 3..

It creates no holes or anything that is not reversible..

That sounds great. Sorry if this is a stupid question, but do you foresee the availability and pricing getting better or worse in the near future (6 month to a year). Like I mentioned, I cant jump in right now due to other financial obligations, but once some of these matters are settled, I'd be interested.

The bezels are always new.. and they are expensive... so I try to be as competitive as I can be.. the Nav APIMs are new and those are $$$

So its hard to say..
