Im hopefully now just weeks away from getting my GT (although it's been stuck in Baltimore for 6 weeks now )
I'm wanting like many to have that deep V8 growl but it's going to be covering 20k miles a year and therefore can't be too loud.
My 2 choices at the moment are either (I value people's thoughts)
a Roush axel back (just a sound mod)
Or just swapping the stock resonator for an H pipe. This saves weight and adds bhp?! It's also cheaper. Has anyone done this?!

Help!?!? Cheers

My picks are the Roush or the Solo Performance. However I have only seen these on online videos and everyone here basically says you have to go and hear them to really hear the difference. I will also be doing about 15-20k.

This made me consider the solo sytems:

I am going to go to the steeda event next weekend and hopefully get to hear a few different exhausts.

I collect my GT on Thurs and have a Roush axle back ready and waiting to be put straight on. I heard one in person a couple of weeks ago and was sold immediately. Went online and ordered one straight away !!

Just a side note, I wasn't sure if it would affect the warranty but my dealership has confirmed that as long as the Cat isn't affected then it won't affect the warranty. Also run it by my insurance company as a 'mod' and they say it's fine as it doesn't improve performance.

Thanks - yes Solo is something I have 'looked at / listened to' to. I too am heading to the Steeda day and hope to hear many an exhaust not through laptop speakers.
Cheers

I've also ordered a roush, but not got yet due to issues with delivery....Was offered a MF Comp AB instead, but for me this sounded too loud and didn't really like the tone so am stuck to waiting for the roush:(

Roush AB with everything else stock is quite loud when you give it beans. It certainly isn't quiet!

It does drone when in 6th at low revs though so watch out for that.

If you take out the resonator, it's MUCH louder, too loud for me.

Loudness is largely controlled by the right-hand pedal with most aftermarket systems. At low revs you'd be fine but if your penchant is to boot it then you're going to produce some noise no matter what you go for. Tin hat on, but 20k miles a year might be one of the better reasons to remain stock. The stock exhaust is only terrible when you compare it to what it could have been. It still kicks the arse of 95% of other cars on the road. Would give you a heap of cash to spend on stuff for the missus...if she like springs, intakes etc... ;)

Haven't heard the Roush AB in person but does appear to be the exhaust of choice in the UK. I lost days tralling through youtube videos of all the various exhausts that are out there and i would definitely suggest you do the same, is very addictive! AM has videos up for most of their exhaust so it's well worth checking their videos out.

If Corsa tickles your fancy I have a Sport AB in the classifieds currently :)

Agreed. Does any other Roush Axel Back owner find a drone?!
