we have a table of fix prices for normal infractions until +30km of the speed limit...

everything over this, you will get a fist "high" fine to pay plus court costs. then they will check your income and pay a percentage of that for the fine...

in my company there is a old story of a rich guy that was flashed with his porsche...
after the fine he had to pay, he told that he could buy a new porsche with the money he paid for the fine :p ahah

and 2 or 3 years ago they implemented a "racer" law... means that if you get caught at a extremely high speed, your car will be sold in an auction and you that you will loose your driving lincense and have to wait for (I don't know exactly but I think 2 years) to make it again.

it's really crazy what they do here against fast driving ppl.. lol that's because everyone drives really carefully... but anyway, we have a lot mountains where you can have a lot of fun and they are not soooooooo supervisioned by radars... :)

Ericc B I don't feel the EB AT is a fuel hog... we need to remember we got the 3.55:1 gears too ;) and I'm getting close to your consumption now on 95...

though I still swear that consumption varies by tank from the same station... :-/ they also change up the gas-mix for winter up here (I don't know the details...)

there is a contract between switzerland and other coutries to get the speed tickets xD
True, even if switzerland is actually 'not' in european union, it's one of the thoughest country about fines collection from foreigners.
Some years ago my parents were passing through switzerland with their RV and got a traffic light on yellow->red, and after about two month when they were back home, italian police called my mom (the RV's registered owner) to notify a swiss fine about that traffic light, photo included  :ninja:

Normally if you get a fine here, you will not be notified abroad. As always government prefer to get our money :headbonk:

Well, I would agree with you! I still hope getting the software update for the AT and later the Cobb tune would make a difference, otherwise I might be better off in a GT.

aaar... guess I'll start measuring in shots/farthing then... :p

still not too far... 10.5km/l is roughly 9.5l/100km... do you feel you get better mileage with 98? it's about 1kr more expensive here, and in addition I get 0.20kr discount on 95 on my station (loyalty card stuff)

I've woken the (eco)beast...

the other day I some bad weather and put it in Wet&Snow and noticed how lethargic the car became... good for fuel consumption, worked fine in wet traffic, but was a bit more boring to drive... so when the weather turned and I found myself on an almost empty highway... I, er, put it in Track Mode and flipped the AT to Sport. OOOOOOOH. What a wild beast :D Unfortunately I ran out of road before I could stop grinning ;)

Also messed around with steering modes... when I first got it I toggled (presumably too quickly) between them without noticing any difference so I left it on sport... I couldn't help but feel the car was a bit skittish - but blamed it on our poor roads. Swapped it to comfort for my roadtrip this past weekend and it was a lot more comfortable to cruise around with ... so for now I'm on "standard"... switching to sports for "sports" and comfort for longer trips on good roads... :)

Essie is no good?
I haven't forgot you.

AAFES here in Stuttgart gets their fuel trucked over from the Eastern block so who knows what all is mixed in with the fuel.

The Esso stations in Germany I'm sure are fine. Germany likes to check and confirm things.

I've read an independent study on Shell fuel and I liked what I saw. They tested the octane levels and explained 'V Power'.

Oh let me stick this in here:

I saw that discussion. I just don't understand the gas chart. I'm a "what is the highest rated gas at this pump?"

Lemers,

I drive to the Shell station here in Germany, I grab the one the says V100 and pump my Warrior full of gasoline. The Europeans rate their fuel by RON (Research Octane Number) so us Americans see 100 octane and think Wow 100 octane well that's racing fuel to us. <Right, I can go to a station in my home town and pump 105 racing fuel>
But the Shell V100 here in Europe is actually only 94.45 to us because our fuel is calculated different in the states. We take RON + MON divide that number by 2.

So if you want to run 'premium' fuel (93 US) you would want to run atleast a 98 European octane level.

When you go to the pump on base they show both European and US octane ratings.
