I can't emphasis enough of the blown engines that I've seen here in Germany so I thought it best to create a thread here on it.
The US obtains its octane rating by this formula: AKI = (R+M)/2) which is sometimes called Pump Octane Number (PON).
AKI means Anti-Knock Index
R is short for Research Octane Number or also RON
M is short for Motor Octane Number or also MON

Here is a summarized comparison:

_US______Germany____________
86 AKI = 91 RON Regular
87 AKI = 92 RON Regular
88 AKI = 93 RON
89 AKI = 94 RON European Premium
90 AKI = 95 RON European Premium/Super at some sites
91 AKI = 96 RON European Super
92 AKI = 97 RON European Super
93 AKI = 98 RON European Super
94 AKI = 99 RON European Super
94.45 AKI = Shell V 100 Power (Nitrogen enriched)

An independent study I found some time ago said that the Shell V100 was RON 101.1 & MON 87.8 so you can do the math. (94.45 AKI)

So if you order a tune from America remember to look this list over first and save yourself a much bigger problem down the road.
Prost!

The V-Power is 98 here in Belgium, would love to try 100 though!

And I can't seem to find 98 on stations in my town (3rd biggest in the country)... saw some in the capitol though... though I though our 95 was roughly equal to the US91? Since that's the "lowest recommended" for the EB?

You should always use EU 98 gas. Both, the EB and the GT, get a huge powerless if using cheap gas - I'm still wondering why only the US Mustang Website recommends US93 for the GT, for the EU GT it's just saying EU 95 is fine - But I already saw dyno tests which clearly show you should always use the premium stuff :headbang:

In the US the minimum recommended octane for both the Ecoboost and GT is 87.

The Ecoboost sees a significant difference in power between 87 and 93, about 20HP. The advertised rated power is with 93 octane.

With the GT the power difference is much less about 4HP.

On 98 since day one but noticed a difference between branded and none branded gas.
Texaco, Total, Shell ok,
Power, Gabriels feels a bit different, guess the brands must be adding something extra explaining the price difference up to € 50c.
On 'branded only' since tune...as strongly advised by Tuner as well.

Since I'll be getting it at esso on base are there any additives you suggest?

I don't know what to tell you. The PX sells some additives.
They sell 93 US octane at the pumps on base.

My thing is did they clean out the tanker before they filled it with our fuel? When the truck gets here there is no QC so what was in it. What if it was urethane?
