Long story short I totaled my 2013 Mustang 3.7 over the weekend... had two payments left. BOOO

Now I have a good excuse to upgrade to a base model 5.0 but I need a new car ASAP. I'm pouring over information but I'm hoping someone can narrow it down. Can someone tell me the differences between the model years? I think I want to avoid the 2015 due to it being the first year.

I believe the 2016's have re-valved struts on the performance package to help dampen the ride, I guess owners with 2015's complained about some bounciness. I'm basing this off of what I've read on this site.

2015's may have some very obvious panel gap issues. I also read about some having the rear glass installed crooked. My 2016 had some very minor panel gap issues whereas the 2015 Stage 2 Roush GT I test drove had the hood so misaligned it was almost rubbing the fender. Trunk wasn't much better.

Thats all I can think of aside from some colors leaving and new ones showing up. I'm sure others will have more of an answer.

The 2016s are the only year with the hood vent turn signal indicators. 2015 & 2016 Had Deep Impact Blue, Kona Blue, and Guard Green available. For 2017, these were nixed in favor of adding Grabber Blue and Lightning Blue (I seem to recall one other color also?).

California Special came in 2016 & 2017 - not available for 2015.

Sync 3 replaced Sync 2 for the Premium models starting in 2016. But base model head unit remained the same across all years.

Otherwise, there really isn't much difference between them. Supposedly some of the early 2015s had some minor fit and finish issues (I never saw any, but I heard some folks mention that). But remember, the drive train was more or less carryover with just a small bump in power from the Coyote engine and, of course, the addition of the Ecoboost motor. So if you are going 5.0, the drive train isn't really a first year issue.

I have a 2015 GT, and I have had no issues with it.

Is Android Auto a premium feature? If not I'm for sure getting a 2017... the only problem is if I ordered a car it wouldn't arrive before 9/1, which is when the 0% interest over 72 months expires. Maybe a way around that?

Are there any good after market head units? I got sucked into the Premium model for my 2013 and it just wasn't worth it. The shaker sucked, the leather seats weren't real leather and got very wrinkled, etc. Not worth the $5k

I don't think the 17's have Apple carplay and Android auto yet.
