No weight reduction, other than I guess getting rid of the factory strut tower brace because I hate having to work around it. As far as hitting 10's, that would be great and I am stuck with bolt on's because I am poor lol so I guess that's a goal to shoot for. Next is E85 and then a GT350 manifold sometime early next year. :headbang:

Also, yes, the car is a 2012 but the weights are similar and engines are near identical (except you S550 guys have better heads and cams). The main reason for this thread was not really to talk about track times, but the MPH for HP reference regarding this PMAS intake kit.

I've been talking to Lund this morning reviewing my results and they are pretty amazed that a full weight car is running over 120 mph full weight on 93 octane in over 1700 ft DA. I know other S197 guys have run similar or better ET's, but most of them have full suspension and weight reduction, and the MPH my car is running is something that they (Lund) haven't really seen before and they tune A LOT of cars, as we all know.

The corrected ET and MPH comes to 11.22@122 for those wondering as well, to keep it consistent with my original post. With all of that being said, I think this will be my last update post regarding the results at the track with the PMAS cold air. I'm happy to answer any questions, though.
That is awesome! Your car is strong for sure and I love that 120MPH. That sucker is hauling the mail:headbang:

Question: does the no-tune PMAS require 91+ octane? Or can I still run 87 when dailying around town?

I use 87 almost every day as my DD.

If you're on the factory calibration you can run the no tune PMAS intake with 87 octane without any issues. Obviously the better the fuel you run the better performance you'll get.

Gonna be running an E85 tune, PMAS intake, and catless headers. Down here in Southern Louisiana we can get DA close to 0 during the winter months.

While I certainly wouldn't complain about 122+ traps I'd be very pleased with a 120mph trap.

I don't want to start a thread for this one question, but does anyone know what the weight difference between a base and a premium GT is?

Just wondering, I'm running an A6 3.55 Premium.

Just a guess. Navi - 10lbs., Seat motors - 10lbs., Leather vs Cloth - 5lbs., Shaker stereo - 5lbs. 30 or so pounds. Anyone else?

It's quite a bit actually. Base GT comes in around 3600ish mine weighs around 3850 dry (3900 with fuel without me) I remember test driving mine and thinking damn it feels a ton heavier than my base 13. My 13 was noticeably faster stock due to being a lot lighter.

I think Ford released the weight for a bare bones manual GT and listed it at 3,705lbs. I think that's with gas, though.

Thanks for the estimate, does that 3850ish figure include a spare tire? I think that was an option (some premiums just have the patch kit).

I don't mind taking out the spare, but I'm not going to do anything else if I go to the track.

I weighed my base GT at the track and it came out to 3705 exactly. It had the Lethal X-pipe in place of the resonator though.

Assuming that's with all the fluids? The x-pipe should have dropped a little weight but not much. I'm not looking for an exact poundage difference, just looking for round figures.

50lbs, 100lbs, 150lbs, 200lbs, etc. If its 100lbs or 121lbs, it won't make much of a difference at the track.

I'm just wondering what I should expect with regards to trap speeds compared to what Derek has run in his S197.

The premium for a daily driver is worth the little additional weight.

If I want a CAI now but don't plan on adding a tune until my warranty is nearly up can I run a No-Tune PMAS and when I eventually get a tune convert it to a tuned PMAS? If that makes sense. I'll probably get a Lund Tune in 2-3 years, but would rather not have to buy another CAI to see the maximum gains. Also would throwing a no-tune PMAS on my currently stock car be worth it power wise, or is a tune required to see any real gains with a CAI.

Get the no tune required and no need to ever swap it out. Both will make the same power once tuned if same tune is used.
