Speechless.
Arseholes, the lot of them.[/QUOTE

come on folks

100% a hoax
look at the size of the thing, and only held on with brown tape, the vibration of the car would shake it off, and if the car went over a puddle the water would weaken the tape
Also as people see number plates at car shows, they could trace the car that way
I posted a few months back about the small trackers for $10 now something like that, makes much more sense as they are held on with a sticky pad and they never come off. also can easy be tracked by a app on the phone.
I very much doubt that people are walking around with these big tracker units seeing a car and thinking "I think I want that car"
Cars have been nicked from car shows, and put on a trailer or straight into a lorry, but they were nicked to order, for mostly overseas. And there are bits of kit, that can piggyback off the tracker and show where you the signal is going back to

Mmm, you could be right there are always hoaxes flying around but I am not sure about being held on by brown tape.

It just looks like insulation tape has been used to waterproof and hold it altogether. I would imagine some sort of bonding tape is used to stick it to the car with...3M or something.

Apart from sticking side scoops to yellow musts, that stuff is pretty good.

May wanna revise the hoax theory. Yesterday my girlfriend's colleague asked her if we still had our Mustang as two mates of his had their vehicles stolen (one car and one bike) within days of attending FordFair...

It maybe a hoax or it may not be. It doesn't hurt to take a few seconds to look over you car though.

Scenario 1: you return to your vehicle from wherever, stick the key in, off you go.

Scenario 2: you return to your vehicle, spend 10 minutes on your hands and knees looking at it from every possible angle checking for homemade tracking devices, stick the key in, off you go.

Guess which one most people do...

You're pretty unlikely to find something you're not looking for, even on a bike, and that thing in the pic ain't exactly huge, is it?

I have never heard of this before at any show, and have been going for 25 odd years, have been to shows this year and tomorrow is Buster Lang
