Just installed a turbosmart bov and I'm getting a lot of flutter unless I'm at high boost. Is this normal? I have mishimoto charge pipes and I left the recirculation tube connected. Should I have removed and capped that? Thanks for any help

The spring pressure might be to high, you can turn the body to the left and try to see if there is less flutter.

I tried adjusting it from full soft to hard and didn't notice much difference other than it idling better.

I noticed that when I switched from my dual port to the race port. I switched back to the dual port until I have time to sort it out.what are you using for your vacuum source?

I guess they stopped shipping the vacuum adapter blocks that go under the map sensor. I was reading through some other forums and someone mentioned that a according to turbosmart, a little bit of flutter under 3k rpm was normal, just as long as it's not in high boost. But, I've never experienced it with the dual port.

Ah gotcha, would it make any difference if I remove the recirculation tube and cap off both openings?

A "lot" - no
There is also no need to do anything to the re-circ tube.
What CAI are you running?

That is correct with a CAI

Right. The sound the car was making with my raceport on didn't sound like compressor surge to me, however the sound it was making at low rpms and when I let off the gas after giving some throttle was very unappealing, I don't think it was the vaccum line because the dual port is fine, I'm convinced it was the spring inside the BOV, maybe I need to go with a weaker spring.

Keep playing with the spring setting on the blowoff valve and check your vaccum line. May not get rid of it completely but it should minimize that sound, also the vaccum adapter could leak of the o ring is busted or not put on right.

Even Adam can confirm this, you're going to get flutter on any aftermarket valve with the stock turbo. That's one of the reasons why Ford went with the fully electronic valve on it. If you put these same valves on a larger (aftermarket) turbo, you'd see the problem disappear. With the spool characteristics of the smaller stock turbo, it makes it difficult to remove all instances, albeit small ones, of compressor surge.
