I had taken a break from trying to find a 2017 due to high markups. It used be that the lowest I found a few weeks ago was 8k over.

Yesterday I contacted 5 dealers and 4 of them came down to 2k over in a matter of 10 minutes. Just wanted to let everyone know. Hope it helps.

Ive seen a few 2017s at msrp that got little interest

I think dealers realized by marking up people just got a GT and walked away and all their 350 orders won't sell unless they down their prices.

I can totally imagine dealers are trying to sell at close to MSRP to get recent mustang owners to upgrade and trade in their 2015,16 models where they'll make a killing selling it in the used car market.

While i cant speak to the full market of the car, i have noticed on ebay they are not selling at all for 5-10k over. The last 2 sold for 2-3k over.

As of writing this there is a ruby red 2017 with no reserve with 30 minutes left and bidding is at 2500 over last i looked. keeping an eye on it to see what it ends at.
