At what ADM "Function over Form" should someone forget the GT350R and just add the main special bits to the Gt350?

Rear R spoiler aftermarket can be had about $800
CF Rims $10k?
Backseat delete $1000?

I know it's not a VIN R, but with those ADMs maybe the smart money is on cloning.
At what point should you forget the GT3 RS and just get a 911 Carrera S and just add some suspension parts? At what point should you forget the M3 and just get a 335i and put a tune and coilovers on it? Its a dumb argument.

The delta between a 335i and M3 is much larger then a GT350 and a GT350R

None of the cars you listed share a engine. I know the m3 vs 335 is a different body.

So his argument is better then your analogy.:)

I wouldn't trade in the 350. I would sell it privately. I paid MSRP for it.

I don't have to worry about the tax implications. It is a business vehicle registered to a non-tax state.

I'm thinking about the 3 year resale on the R. I think it will be better. Plus, the ability to depreciate an additional $17k.
Oh thats alot of math I guess you need to throw it in a spreadsheet and decide.

You don't have to buy it in your region. Figure $1500 to ship it. I think the 30K ADM fad is about over with the exception of the bay area and So. Cal.

You can call around and easily get a 20K ADM deal. 10K is obtainable, and 5K is a steal.

But all that doesn't matter, it is up to you what the car is worth. Don't let me sway your decision. If you have the $$ and you think 17K over is OK, then go for it.
Tomster, please post or PM your list of 5-10K adm deals on R models.
Thx!

For those asking about how many R's were built, Ford released the 2016 numbers....

Based on my count there were only 98 built for the US and 49 sold abroad. 147 total R's if I'm adding right.

I don't think those numbers are right. Maybe number actually sold? The Regular GT350 shows less than 2000, which is definitely not right. There are members here with Chassis numbers higher than 3000.

You may be right. My chassis number is 226 and it was built during the second week of production for 2017. Do you think they made 225 GT350's in the first 2 weeks? Just curious.

actually about 17K ADM for a '16. I have found better. However if you have that kind of disposable income, I say go for it.
If you have any leads, I've been looking at getting an R.

Thanks in advance!

That graphic that you got was for production through February of 2016. So, roughly 1/3 of overall production. So, my number of approximately 500 of them for 2016 is correct.

Ah, that would explain it. Thanks.

It's not an argument but a question; as indicated by the "?"

But really, if cloning it isn't the answer then what about buying a true $85k car instead?
