Did yours come with 4 clamps or 2? Mine came with another break in the pipe under the axle and what appear to be different mufflers compared to the other pictures I've seen of it.

I have a ton of vibration with the race version. It feels like the exhaust hangers are directly welded to the body of the car and extremely uncomfortable (it literally vibrates my teeth like I'm at the dentist). Combined with the poor fitment and sound unlike what I was expecting based on the 20-30 videos I watched of it I might just take it back off after only a week.
Could it be that you didn't adjust it right when you installed it? I don't have those issues. And I've had the MBRP setup on two different ecoboosts

Its been to two professional custom exhaust shops and adjusted numerous times to the tune of 6 hours of labor at this point. I paid $489 for the exhaust on sale for 4th of july and I have $300 into "fixing" it. For that money I could have just bought a whole other kit.

As I said before, my model seems to be quite different from what their website shows in the pictures. Maybe thats why it went on sale so cheap.

Why didn't you just get it welded on?

This is my opinion.

If you're looking into budget systems for this car then you really should buy a downpipe, resonator and muffler of your choice with a v-band clamp and have a local exhaust shop that does good work (meaning guys with fast cars go to him for exhaust work) fab up the system for you. Too many fitment issues with the cheaper exhausts, and even when they fit right, most of them all sound like cheap shit.

With a custom job, fixing it is so cheap and quick.

I thought about having it cut and welded for sure, but I knew that I didn't like the sound and I might try to sell it and recover a little of the cost. I just haven't had time to do anything else with it. The tone has mellowed out some but it is still very "honda" sounding compared to the video up above for example, which is one of the ones I watched before buying it. I have no pops and crackles, just the normal fart-can sound. My mufflers are also much bigger than what I can see on his car.

I installed catless downpipe and MBRP race about 2 weeks ago. I absolutely love it, for my tastes its perfect. Sounds nice and deep also can hear the turbo spool so much now. Pretty quiet when idleing and crusing and gets louder on acceleration or decel but i like hearing the car when i drive it.

I have Mbrp race with a mishi catted downpipe and its drones a good amount. I seriously want to ride in all these cars where people say they have zero drone bacause I think most people don't know what drone really is.

I wonder if it's your downpipe that's contributing to the drone. I took my EB on a 950 mile round trip with my wife (who has hearing like a bloodhound), and she didn't have any issues with the exhaust note/drone, and I recently did another 175 mile round trip drive yesterday, and after seeing your post, specifically drove with the radio off while I was cruising on the highway just to see if I was missing something. Cruise control set at 73, and you couldn't even tell I had aftermarket exhaust from inside the car.

Cal that sounds very good. Just a nice low sound. Not that you need it but good choice.

You are aware that this isn't mustang ecoboost specific, right? A resonator is meant to stop drone; when a wide pipe cat-back without a resonator is installed on almost any car there will be drone, whether or not you (or your wife) hear it. Drone is also much less noticeable with the windows down (since the reverb is not trapped inside the cabin). Drone is a specific frequency range; a range that is known to resonate with most materials.

I still have the stock downpipe, but my MBRP Race drones and drones and drones. It drones so much it has brought out new interior vibrations and rattles that do not exist with the stock exhaust. How to I know this so well? Because every few weeks I get so sick of the drone that I take the MBRP off and put the stock back on.

That sucks !! I have the street version. No drone but at low rpm on the highway and you ease onto the gas it does vibrate a lot from the low low harmonics but its just a matter of getting used to it I guess.

Sounds to me like you just described drone. The vibration you're describing is reverberation of the sound off the materials; aka drone.

Maybe I should clarify my post above. The drone is not constant with my MBRP Race. It only rears its ugly head from slight throttle increases while cruising like you said. If I stay at a constant speed, you can hardly tell I have an aftermarket exhaust. Its only those slight bumps in throttle that bring out the dreaded drone.

To be honest, I love the sound of the MBRP. Perhaps I should just turn up my radio so I don't hear it. Only problem is my wife is a chatty cathy, so when she's in the car the radio is low or off. :frusty:
