I'm wondering if Randy could have got the GT350 around the course a little faster if he hadn't been giving a running commentary all the way around the course. He seemed to be just concentrating on driving and not commenting when he was in the Z28 and the R on the course. Then again maybe they just cut out his mike from the audio of those runs, but I doubt it.

R = Cup 2
Z/28 = Trofeo

non-R= MPSS
1LE = Goodyear Eagle F1

Trofeos are the stickiest (true R compound) with Cup2's right behind it.

The others are still just street tires for the most part.

Put Cup2's or Trofeos on the non-R or the 1LE.... a key difference in dry track grip.

Easily good for at least a second improvement per lap.

My experience... after switching from stock MPSS to Cup2's on my Z06, I went a couple seconds faster per lap at all the tracks I go to. Big difference.

Lets just say for the sake of it being motor trend R beats it by 1 second (even though it would really be 2 or so) They will still crown the overall win to the L1E. Then when its time for the ZL1 it may best the R by 1 second and it will get all kinds of love.

When it comes time for the buyers to come knocking down the doors, they will be sitting on lots collecting dust. You'll hear crickets chirping at the dealerships....and then if you do desire to take one for a test drive, when opening the door it will open like a tomb that has been sealed for 3,000 years...and of course make you feel like your in a coffin/tomb.
Motor trend will try to persuade readers, like in the past...this time will be no different.

Honestly, I don't even care which is faster. I'd still take the R or even a base GT350 over any Camaro. SS, 1LE, Z28, ZL1. The new Camaros are pretty damn fast and props to GM for that, but I can't get over the way they look. I don't care how good they drive or how fast they are.

Best driver car usually includes a full array of cars if I am not mistaken. it also only includes vehicles in production, and I don't think Chevys latest iteration of the ZL1/Z28 is out yet? I don't really follow Chevy so I'm not sure

Celebrating 50 years of camaros.... err... i mean 43 years of camaros but 50 years since the first one, ya thats what i mean, please buy our special edition, we will do anything to help sales. I don't know about you guys but i am holding out for the 8 year transformer bumblebee commemorative edition. i heard it will come with special floor mats and a copy of the first transformers movie on dvd. Sweeeeeeet.:lol:
