Time for a Mcleod Twin Disc! :D
Isn't that more of an ON/OFF sort of device? Is it street/daily driver friendly?
It is super DD friendly. I just had one installed roughly 200-250 miles ago. If anything, I feel it is LESS jerky than the stock clutch and EASIER to DD. This is my first manual car, too. I have about 8K miles on her so far and even then I got it (and the McLeod steel flywheel) because I am going FI, I'd recommend it even for people who aren't looking to go FI.

I bought the car with 6,6xx miles on it and have been dealing with clutch issues since the first week of ownership. After countless trips to the dealer, it finally went out yesterday at 18,9xx miles. I'm an experienced manual driver and find it funny how crappy these clutches are, especially when it comes to the car they're used on. I took it to the nearest dealer to see what's up and he said "You've got a tune, your clutch is toast. Everything from this point is customer paid".

Ive got an appointment with the dealership that I've been going back and forth with on Friday but due my bolt-ons and tune, I doubt they'll cover it.

Sucks. I didn't plan to have to replace my clutch this early and I don't have ~$1,800 sitting around for parts + labor.
Damn man that sucks! I feel for you and I'm not sure what is going on with the MT82's. The dealer should at least give a discount since you have been reporting this problem to them.

What really sucks is that if you got a CPO, the powertrain warranty is 7 years, 100k miles. Now you're flagged in their system and it's voided. Screw them, upgrade the clutch with another shop, don't do anything crazy to your engine for the time being.:(

Clutch probably got overheated by the previous owner and it finally failed.

How did they know you had a tune ?

What were the symptoms of the clutch going? Having a bit of clunkiness with mine at 9,900 miles on the clock i.e. I press down on the clutch pedal say in first gear coming to a stop at a light and I can hear a huge clunk which sounds like drive line shock. I was wondering if there was some suspension parts loose causing the clunk when the driveline torque hits after engaging/disengaging the clutch but thinking it could be something to do with the clutch.

Had an RXT on my 2007 DD and loved it. Very streetable.

In another thread, I believe someone had discovered that there is slop in the axles.

Well the dealer that denied warranty is a new dealer I've started going to. I had it towed last night to the inital dealership I've been complaining about the clutch to. The car straight up left me stranded and my brother and I had to walk a couple miles home. Not the end of the world, but shit.

I'm considering getting rid of the car as a whole now. I have 4-5 friends with cash in hand waiting to see what happens with my clutch situation before they put money down on their 5.0's and they're all slowly being turned off of Ford's QC.

Clutch probably got overheated by the previous owner and it finally failed.

The PCM will say how many times it's been flashed IIRC. I just kept it honest with them and told them straight up when they asked me over the phone.

Doesn't sound clutch related. Possibly trans related though. My clutch would be softer than usual sometimes but aside from that, no real signs. I also have a friend who's flywheel bolts backed out and tore his clutch disc apart. Ford warrantied that, but his car only has 4-5k on it. Still, why is that happening on such a new car?

I've been nothing but honest with the service manager but I'm at 18,9xx now. We'll see if it's covered. It might be a pointless fight but I'll keep pushing. There's no reason why an OEM clutch should fail so early with mild bolt-ons and a tune. The clutches they use are shit.
