So another thing of note since I have been using this unit for the better part of a week now.... The screen has developed light bleed... When I first installed the unit I was impressed at the fact that it didn't have any light bleed but it seems over time while being exposed to the typical summer day in Maryland the screen has warped enough to cause light bleed on all 4 edges of the display. It is not damaging to the functionality of the unit in any way but it is just something to keep in mind.

I taped off the unused rubber buttons. I guess it helps prevent light bleed.

Im looking at mine now. If I turn the screen off, I'm noticing light bleed all the way around as well. I've got the Moddiction unit installed.

You can turn the screen off without turning the car off? Haha It is likely that the backlight of the screen is still on. Its not terrible by any means but it does annoy me a bit since I am OCD about screen quality.

So this unit is going to look like Sync 2 or it *is* Sync 2? And the Moddiction unit is a Sync 3 lookalike but uses Sync 2 functionality? Somewhat confused on the unit differences here and what makes the Raxiom better.

I've not experienced any bleed yet. I would like a couple more radio presets too.

I have a premium model with MFT including nav, hd radio, climate control, 12 speaker shaker audio, etc. As most know MFT is very slow, can receive but not send messages nor mirror an iPhone. So what, if anything could I gain from this unit, and what would I lose?

I have looked at 3rd party sync3 upgrading, but updating seems to limited to workarounds only at this point, and CarPlay is not yet assured for them.

Thanks.

I would not recommend this for you at all. Having come from an MFT swap I can say that the screen is way more responsive and Nav is way better. However, you would effectively loose your ability to control your climate as you have the dual zone climate controls vs the standard manual ac controls. On top of the fact that you would have to source a base model sync module, re-pin the APIM connector, and reprogram your ACM.... It simply will not work for you. I would suggest sticking with a sync 3 upgrade.

Other than the screen mirroring, it wouldn't be an upgrade. Your unit would still have the same lag because this is meant to add a large display that is emulating the Sync hardware apready in the car. YOU have HD and SAT, this unit does not. In my opinion, you would be pissing money away if you replace what you have with this, the Rosen or the Moddiction unit, which is what I have.

Rich - Apologies I don't have this info here. The units I was able to allocate I couldn't even get my hands on. We'll try to source this for you.
