Man... I was actually going to go with this sweet little thing for my ST before I got my ebm but over $4k for the kit for the ebm?!?!? ST GTX2867r kit can be had for under $2k so I guess the rest of the $2k plus is for map's additional parts? Maybe I should start ubering at night to feed my moddiction lol. Gosh where is the mod recovery :amen:

No. I think the parts are different from the MAP parts that are for the stock turbo. Locations where it connects to the intake and downpipe should be different I guess

Focus ST's GTX kit can be purchased for under $2k but thats focus ST specific kit. Maybe if you are looking to just purchase just the turbo itself you can probably find it even cheaper. I also think the MAP kit that comes with our ebm GTX kit are kit specific, at least some parts are??

4250 is cheap as fuck. So is the 5k full race. Most turbo kits like this run 6k-7k. If you get this kit plus a good intercooler for 5 k and 500 for AP plus life time tunes you have 6k into a car that get better mpgs, cheaper insurance and still spanks new 5.0s for less. Both MAP, Tune + and Full Race discount many of the fabbed parts to keep their kits affordable.

I'm interested to see what Adam is working on in that new kit of his, in regards to pricing. You have to remember that a lot of the users here are new to turbo cars, so seeing a kit for $4k-$5k is going to be high to them. A kit, like the ATP, that runs around $2k is a steal for that setup given that it's designed specifically for a certain platform.

4-5k to upgrade a turbo on a factory turbo car is very expensive imo.

I think it should come with everything for that amount to be honest, like at least tune and intercooler core included. The main thing that is being paid for is the manifold adapter and the R&D time into it along with making sure everthing works together with the placement. So far the ebm platform isn't to the place where you can buy a manifold and piece together whatever you want so you have to buy a whole kit or a stock replacement style turbo. Its still an awesome kit for the price and the GTX2867 turbo is an awesome choice for this motor.

On DSMs, we could pull an ATP like move and get something to bolt up though. Considering that these kits include a manifold adapter (more like a manifold though), turbo, lines, charge pipe(s), intake and filter, downpipe, fittings, etc, makes the price look less offensive to me.

Just think what it'd cost to buy all of that new for a DSM. You'd still be looking at $3k or better. Something else to consider is that those cars have been on the market for decades and lots of the parts are interchangeable across Eclipses, GVR4s, Evos, etc.

That's the price for MOST turbo cars honestly. The reason the GTX turbo is so cheap for the ST's is because ATP offers it as a stock location set up. So there's not really anything added. For the EBM it's not like that. The Vargas Stage 2 is the only stock location upgrade there is.

Exactly. That's why I listed off all that's included with a kit such as the MAP or FR. There's a lot of parts within those kits.

But at the same time yall spend 2k+ to be fully bolt on? the extra is literally a turbo and lines. Any turbo system is 3500+ thats pretty much the standard cost

I don't care what anyone think. $4250 for a GTX2867r is expensive. Now I'm in no way trying to question or bash MAP/Adam project. Im sure the work and craftsmanship behind MAP items are top notch but I just don't see myself paying $4250 for a turbo upgrade on a already factory boosted car. If $4250 is cheap than the same turbo kit for the ST for undef $2k must be heaven sent steal.
