I thought I was driving it as hard as I was before... Maybe as I get more attached to the car I am less willing to risk it ;)

I have metric shiite-tons of video that I can post but its far too much bandwidth as-is. I need to get/learn a decent video editing suite. Im just ramping up to this stuff - just bought Harry's laptimer.

Heres the 4th session raw video, if you are bored.

Windows Movie Maker works pretty good, uploads to youtube 10X faster.

Track Handling Pack

Impressions of Track Handling Pack:

Perfect for what I wanted for right now - yay!

I'm used to coilovers so its still VERY compliant on the street and freeway. I dont notice any difference in street or highway driving, unless I try to make the car wobble a bit - It now prefers to stay neutral. Car does not look dropped or slammed at all, for better (cops) or worse (enthusiasts) ;)

Nose will still tip down about 1/2 as much as before, under hard stops, and will still raise a bit to accentuate that you are flooring it in 2nd gear :headbang:

Basically, what I had hoped for. About a 3 on a scale of 1-10 in terms of harshness and I would dare say a 4 to 4.5 for performance.

EDIT: The cynic in me would say something to the effect of 'It should have been part of the PP, its that accessible and appropriate'
The non-cynic is just happy that the car is in the garage :)

EDIT 2:
Took a friend out for a first time show of the acceleration. Cheated a bit and used a slight downhill grade. Was my first time using a tune and new intake.
Dropped 2nd gear and omfg_zomfg_hfs-zomfg I kept my shit together but the car decided to show everything all at once. Not likely going to forget that :)

EDIT 3:
Rolling down the highway, even the street, with the Recaros offering ample comfort and knowledge that there is support at your back - the engine, everything - its almost majestic.
Grand touring for sure, but for cross country I might want some Bose headphones. (Im wondering if I might see Road Atlanta, Road America, Sebring...)

The new suspension continues that feeling. And, a point that I meant to make earlier- the factory (PP) suspension performs quite well, although it may come at the cost of tire life.

Were you able to get the alignment as specified by ford performance?

Not sure about Ford Performance spec... didnt press the chap. I was told they had the alignment done :D

Agree that it could use more camber! I will see about that before the next event, hopefully.

So...what what the issue? the car or you? Do you have video?
I dont think theres really an 'issue' issue.. 1 second faster is pretty good, all things considered.
I will be in the 1:29's on the new tires methinks.

EDIT: Actually, I think I left a fraction of a second out there as compared with the aggressiveness that I drove before, I think turn 3 was the culprit.

Definitely a good thing all around, methinks. While dropping the car's CG is a good thing, its importance is typically overrated especially by the "appearance/gotta have the look crowd". Until you're running on R-comps or better, perhaps.

That's an enthusiast with his ride & handling engineer's hat on, talking . . .

I hear ya. Not trying to talk trash; the car was absolute tits from the minute it left the dealer lot.

EDIT: Nooorm!

Hey John - if you're looking for a great local shop to set up a good performance alignment for you when you get these plates, check out My Auto Surgeon in Rocklin by the 65. I forgot the guy's name who is the wizard, but if you call ahead and explain, they'll be able to tell you.

My alignment specs are below, it's what they were able to do with Eibach Sportlines on otherwise stock GTPP suspension - note that the camber came from the aggressive drop, usually you wouldn't be able to go that negative without plates. You know it's a good sign when the shop has slick ramps ready to go in order to accommodate low cars...

S2K back to T-hill

Went back to T-hill 2-mile course, albeit in the s2000. Mustang is getting upgrades :D

I was able to beat my s2000 best time, still a smidge off the (no longer stock GTPP*) Mustang's best lap woo hoo! ('stang best 1:30.41)
*FR Track Handling pack, Magnaflow Street Exhaust, CF Driveshaft

Unfortunately, I forgot the camera mount in the 'stang so I did not get good video.

I was still able to enjoy some analysis checking the lateral g forces in the S2000
(never used Harry's laptimer in the S2000 before, love that app..!)

As expected, the s2000 can turn at some respectable g force.

*edit I'm hoping the total g's are still correct even though the phone is disoriented :D
**e2 - On second thought, not sure those high g turns were necessarily reaching 1.4 g.
Will get a dedicated camera setup to avoid flubbing it in the future! I gotta believe the laptimes and speeds are correct.

Best time (s2000):
1:30.79

In case anyone cares, why not post vids even though its an s2k and messed up. (Its interesting to me, maybe to someone else)

Messed up video, sadly, but can see Harry's info at least. The below video at least shows the line, albeit 90 degrees off :p

Time:
1:31.17
Watchable video if you rotate or lean 90 degrees :p

Hey John - good times last night!

My best lap video coincidentally has your taillights for awhile, as you walk away from me...

That was a 1:33.95....but I'm still hanging on to the excuse of being held back by the stock crappy Pirellis :D We'll see if I put up, or shut up, when I get 315 Rival-S's on all four corners. That and the Koni's to come don't really leave many excuses left, ha
