I just ordered one of these and want to get some ideas of where to install it. I've seen it in several different locations. Just looking for some pictures if anybody has some. This is one of the install I've seen which looks bad ass but he's not running a filter.

If you are mounting it in the stock location Procharger says to have it, be very very sure it's not pressing on the inlet tube!

My stock location is down by the filter on the ho kit. I also have the upgraded inlet have they had issues with those?

I've seen it in the corner of the upper grill peaking out just a little. That is where I planned on doing mine. With all the noise about pressing on the intake tube I want to some how get it far away from it. Would love to see where you end up with yours when you get it on. You will have yours on before my kit comes in I am sure.

I've seen it there also. The one I saw you could see the entire valve but they had the grill delete. It looks really good.

Ok, from someone who literally just ordered a Procharger - what is this for?

Is this like a blow off valve to release pressure? I would imagine that the stock kit includes a basic one - why the upgrade?

Yeah it's a bypass valve. The stock kit provides one that works fine. I just upgraded because I'm slowly upgrading from a ho to a stage 2 kit with a bigger blower that will eventually need it and it sounds damn good.

Sound is pretty much the only reason. Procharger says the basic one is good to like 1000 whp.

Most people running around 15psi run the red race valve.
I'm sure that is true, but that doesnt mean its it's necessary either. I do love how it sounds thought!

does the stock one sound good, or is it like the stock pieces on factory cars with turbos (for example) that you can barely notice?

The standard valve flows like there is no tomorrow.
(hence why it has the same design as your throttle body on your engine)
I have personally enjoyed using it on my street cars up to 750rwhp.

The "race" valve was originally designed for well....Race cars. (1000+ HP stuff)
And designed to have two valves being used.

However over the years, the more "street" based customers of ours have wanted the sound of the race valve, so they purchase them to install on their kits.

But yes, that big bugger is a bear to try and fit into the S550 platform. Lots of careful trimming and you will get her in there.
