My wife's GT is currently Stage 2 Procharger on stock exhaust. We'd like to open up the exhaust, but she does not want the car to get really loud. I've been trading emails with Beefcake and the best option would be LT catted headers mating up to stock everything else.

What I can't find is many posts of people who have done this or any sound clips. The LT catted header sound clip examples always have aftermarket cat-back. This post is a call for other testimonials or sound clips of a setup like I'm considering. Thanks.

Should sound good, slightly louder than stock. If you want it to sound better but close to stock swap in gt500 mufflers out back and leave resonator in the middle with catted longtubes.

You could do the LTs catted no problem and still keep the stock cat back in place and it would waken up your car just enough that it isn't ridiculously loud! We are currently running 15% off Kooks products till Sunday, just use coupon code KOOKS. If you have any questions please feel free to ask.

Thanks for the feedback guys. I'm looking at different brands now to make a final decision.

FYI I have found 1 video of an s550 on YouTube with longtubes and stock exhaust. I'll try to find it for you in a bit.

This is my car when it had the longtube headers (no cats), stock resonator, stock pipe with stock mufflers.

Why not just try a resonator delete with the factory mufflers and see how you like it before diving into a LT header setup?

It's a very affordable option to get more sound out of the factory system without high labor costs for the install.

Here's a video of our car with the resonator delete and factory mufflers. Definitely an improvement and it's won't break the bank or be too loud.

I would KILL to have a flow testing machine like the one in that video! I hope the test is truly unbiased, i.e. the folks doing the test aren't linked to Jones. I wonder if those mufflers would support 400 hp each without too much back pressure? I have a project I need a pair of mufflers for (not my gt), and they would likely fit in the space allotted to mufflers.
