So I installed a magnaflow competition catback this weekend and to me it sounds amazing. I get my daughter during the summer (in 2 weeks) and I think it will be to loud inside for her. Trying to see what my options are, I've been researching noise canceling headphones and that seems like a possibility. Would installing a resonator make it less loud inside? Any other ideas are welcome. Thanks

Thanks for linking that, that's a possibility. I guess I was looking for a non permanent solution

You know her better than us, but from my own personal experiences, having loud cars, some pure race cars, other loud street cars, my kids seem to love them. My daughter is five (Boys 17,18 and 19) and rides with me in my SC 1993 Mustang with SLP Loudmouth and my 1969 Mach1 428, which is louder...Laughs and cheers when we go under an overpass... "Hit it Daddy!" :D

The Dynomax high-flow resonators are your best bet man. They won't hinder the flow much, if at all, and it will add a nice deep tone to your car. Otherwise, it's replace it with stock for the summer, or install some Dynamat sound deadening materials to the trunk and hope that helps enough.

My two boys (ages 5 and 7) don't mind the 3" exhaust on my car and even have fallen asleep when we took a little road trip. I only get them for the summers too. I have a step daughter who's 4 and she's always begging me to mash the gas pedal through the floor because she likes to hear the engine rev up haha. To answer your question, Howard Leight makes a pretty cheap noise cancelling headphone. they're typically for shooting(I bought a set as a backup when I was deployed). they'd silence the sound of a CH-47 pretty good so I'm sure they'll have no problem with your magnaflows. they also amplify lower decibel sounds, so she'll be able to hear you talk louder inside the headphones. the only issue is they're uncomfortable after a while and make the area around your ears sweat. My personal opinion is to just drive easy and then see how she reacts to it. Kids are pretty durable I've learned over the past years haha. good luck.

Thanks for the feedback. My daughter is 5 and after driving around for a few days I think I'll be alright. I have an automatic, if I just keep it in D and dont accelerate very hard I think I'll be fine. 1st and 2nd are the loudest, after it hits 3rd its actually fairly quiet. I think I'll grab a pair of Bose QC 25 headphones (top of the line noise cancelling) just to make sure shes comfortable.

The dynomat idea is good, I dont think I'll be able to install it that quick thought But I think Ill do that in the future.
