After seeing some of the threads about underseal, I thought it would be interesting to have a poll about what people are doing or intend to do. As far as I see it, there are three options:
So, what is everyone else doing?
- Leave it as it is. This is as Ford intended it. The US and Canada cars aren't undersealed and they have far worse winter conditions (and likely salt) than we have to worry about and I'm guessing the cars are fine (maybe someone from one of the colder states can confirm this). However, I don't know if people take their own measures to protect their own cars. This could also turn into a bigger problem years down the line when cars start failing MOT's due to corrosion.
I've noticed a few people with imported Mustang's without underseal still in good nick after many years. Are these a lucky few, or do they genuinely do okay as a whole? - Complain to Ford until they fix it under warranty. This could go on for a long time and may not even get anywhere.
- Get a company like Modurstang to underseal it. However, I'm guessing this would invalidate the corrosion warranty. Plus its extra money I feel people shouldn't be spending after forking out £30-40k for a car.
So, what is everyone else doing?
