My dealer said they officially have 5 working days for PDI.
If that includes contingency planning yeah i'll second that, if they have an issue such as needing to respray, that's a day to properly be done regardless of panel, if you want it painted lacquered and sealed.

Pannel alignments if they do them, etc. would come under contingency planning.

However the actual checks done, no more than a few hours :headbonk:!

If the car came from Baltimore as perfect a PDI shouldn't take more than a few hours really, clean the car, drive it around, check all the components, install any software updates.

When I went to see my dealer on friday, it was still showing the car in Zeebrugge with a delivery date of 16th July :eyebulge:. Good job I dropped in and updated him . He put a priority on it for me on the transporter but time will tell.

Just shows much little the dealers are actually told by the system.

The systems are about as slow as a snail, they probably run on like windows 95 or something .

Probably why I tell everyone to update their dealers with information, may as well, doesn't hurt anyone in fact benefits you, bit of a pain as dealer should do their job, but ford should provide them with up to date systems to do their job more effectively I guess!

Out of interest, my mate who used to work for Volvo as a mechanic was allocated 1 hour, per car for a PDI check. Regardless of vehicle type

I'm still in no news limbo. Seems that there are 6 of us left now in Liverpool.

Woop. Not long now then as you're a southamponer right (Or close to it?)

Col3371 yeah the actual checks, such as the drive, overlooking of the car etc, don't take too long, cleaning usually is a good 2-3 hours, and then the rest is for any changes they need to do, which is why 24-48 hours for a PDI is pretty average, but they really shouldn't be that long!!!! (3-7days like some people been getting!)

Yep Steve, got that. Just pointing out that those who elect to collect without washing or valeting just need the dealer to PDI on a minimum.

Might help someones argument.

And now my dealer isn't in until Wednesday GRRRRRRR
Call dealership, ask for him, they'll tell you he's not in, ask for his boss, and to speak to them, get them to do it - they'll just ask someone else to, but you have to demand it's done, My dealer (without me asking) called me once she'd done it, feel free to ask them to call you once completed. Mondays usually busy on their lines for prioritising!

In the end this is what happens

You call dealer to prioritise
dealer tells front office staff to call out to Southampton to do it
they do it

But you can't ask the front office staff to do it :(.

Damn secretaries!

If your dealer is Eastleigh - they drive them from the docks rather than transporter!
