Perceptions of the Mustang

He said, "Blimey didnt know Ford could make a car like that"

Pulled up outside my house the other day and was just standing by the car about to lock it when a beautiful 20 something blonde girl walked past and said, Hey! that's a lovely car, with a big smile.

Now that sort of thing has never happened to me, shame I was probably at least twice her age and a bit and I think she maybe my neighbour's kid's nanny.

Went to visit a good mate today, and let him have a drive..... He's a proper driver, sunbeam lotus, TVR Griffith, and Porsche Cayman S, plus a load of other old rally cars...

His reaction was priceless....... Was surprised how quick it was, shocked at how well it handled, was flabbergasted, at how good the brakes were, loved the ride and comfort, and waxed lyrical at how much FUN it was to chuck it about....

He couldn't believe how many people pointed, smiled, or just swung around to take a second look...

The only slight criticism he had was that the gearbox wasn't as quick as the PDK on his Porsche.....but even he said so what? It's plenty good enough to do the job...:clap2:

I ended up staying longer at the polling station today than I expected as a couple of people were standing around the car and ended up asking me questions. Even two of the election staff were out looking around it lol

You'll get loads of it. It's funny, I've driven around with a friend in his Huracan, and it gets looks... but nobody gives the thumbs up! The Mustang is like The friendly persons sports car that gets both looks and rest!

I really wasn't prepared for the amount of attention this car gets! People turn around when they hear it coming, pointing, jaws dropped, thumbs up, you name it!

We a currently driving around the Pyrenees and getting lots of attention.

Also attracting increased attention from officials. Last week getting on the ferry we were singled out for a security check. Today exiting Andorra into Spain we were the only car singled out. Had to explain using sign language that it is a Ford Mustang, no cigarettes, no alcohol, no cash, just lunch. He liked the car.

Then blasted back towards Bilbao up torturous near vertical hairpin bend sequences and along sweeping mountain straights and curves in Sport mode with no traffic and lots of overtaking (good spotting by SWIMBO giving the OK to pull out instructions).

Hi George, yes we passed through Ainsa but I'm afraid it was a flying visit. The Spanish side of the Pyrenees are spectacular and some great Mustang driving roads.

Wow mate, I'm jealous, I miss Euro trips a lot, big one for us later this year, down to Italy, pretty sure there'll be mucho perceptiono there ;)

Spain is a fantastically stunning driving country, so many trips, not enough time :(

Had to resurrect this thread - pulled up at the lights earlier and the driver of the van in front hopped out (busy dual carriageway) walked back and asked if it was a Shelby and chatting about how he drove one in the US - then the lights changed and he had to run back!
