Yes that's all very unsettling. At least the little scroats didn't drag a key down it when they found it was locked.
I've found Dobermans don't like burglars very much...

Not nice to watch this happening to your own car on your own drive !

We got a really good alarm on our house that includes infra red beams across the driveway entrance. So at night I turn them on and if anyone walks down the drive the house alarm goes off and more flood lights than Wembley stadium has goes on.

They work a treat and very discrete so it’s not obvious they are there until you trigger it ! Only had two false alarms in years both thick fog related.

Don't think that type of alarm would work were i live we get lots of urban foxes and cats up an down our driveway every night so it would keep going off i would get no sleep :cwl:

The beams have to be set at least 1.0m above the ground for this issue, so unless you have foxes walking on their hind legs you should be fine ;)

Edit:
You can add Tile Hill to that list.
Getting worse there, I see the Police are quite busy there, these days.

Is yours the red Mustang I sometimes see near the burnt post?

Car thefts are increasing in number.
I watched the Shmee150 video he posted recently, for the keyless protector.

The guy who fitted my AM immobiliser said he could buy keyless entry cloning kit on the bay for 300 quid.

I may fit a keyless protector, but I'm also considering taking the GT to the dealer to have the KE deactivated.
Nah that's not me, never been there, you'd know if you saw mine, it's rather unique haha!

p.s would recommend a bollard. Wheel locks are pretty easy to remove now a days unfortunately.

Lost my Escort Cossie many years ago, stolen from a locked garage, with a krooklok on, and two alarm systems with separate immobilisers.

I woke up in the morning and the car was gone, never to be seen again.

If they really want it, they will get it, no matter what you do.

Police not doing squat?
Not sure what you expect them to do? Mount a surveillance operation 24/7 in case they come back? Or somehow ID them from that footage? Or be everywhere at once so they see everything. This happens day in day out thousands of times all over the country. No resources/funds to tackle it or any practical way to do so.

It must be very shocking to see that happen on your drive. Sadly all these awesome HD cameras do usually is get you a great pic of an unidentifiable person in a hoodie.

Make it as difficult as you can. Take them on if you like, but be prepared to lose or put your family in danger. Mostly keep your fingers crossed they look elsewhere.

TBH mustangs are really not the choice of organised crime gangs. They are not practical enough, not enough doors, too easy to crash, stand out too much, poor range, too noisy etc. They use high power BMW’s, Audi’s and Golfs which are stolen daily, plates cloned and used in crime against police fleets that are under powered and police drivers that are afraid to pursue (if they are allowed to do so in the first place) due to being hung out to dry in the event of a crash.

I don't know maybe do their fucking job, not my job to say what they should do. Consider maybe: Fingerprint swabbing the car rather than just "lets ID a randomer"

Rest i agree with.

Not trying to start an argument but you would be surprised at how forensics don’t really work like that. A slightly damp surface or a surface that has any texture will prevent prints being left. Most metal or plastic on cars over night becomes damp as the temperature changes meaning no prints. It’s not like it is on CSI. No crime has actually taken place by simply touching a door handle. Coming onto a private drive is civil tresspass at best. You could argue an attempt theft but it would never get past a custody desk let alone into a court without being them going equipped or trying to force it open.

Even if you get a print that would just prove that a person once touched the car. Wouldn't prove that the person on the cctv was the owner of the print. The car is often left in public making prints of little value. Wouldn’t be grounds to arrest or even interview a person under caution. If you understand how it all works you would see it’s not a case of not doing their jobs. It’s about what is actually possible and what the law of the land allows.

Most police forces barely have enough resources to answer 999 calls or are too busy dealing with all of societies other issues like mental health, personality disorders, anti social behaviour, Facebook arguements etc again because if they don’t they get it in the neck. Trust me they would rather be chasing crims given the choice.

Bring back public birching and publicising in papers who these people are when they are caught pictures with names and crimes make the fines the cost of the chase ,cars damage police time not just a couple of quid make things a deterrent again not just a slap on the wrist its all getting to be very PC for criminals but hey that's my opinion lol
