I have just over 3k miles in over a year. Breaks down to 8 miles a day. Sometimes it will sit for a week or two, but I try to take it out when I'm running errands or visiting family and friends.

I have concerns with the length of time e85 will sit in my system. I usually only fill up once a month or longer. There's an old thread with people on both sides of the fence, but is there any one with new opionons/experience?

Looking for some more power and have pretty much reached full potential with out going FI or heavily modified motor.

Ive been a mechanic for 30 years and u dont want to let e85 sit to long,it can form hard deposits throughout the fuel system. From my experience leaving it your tank for over 30 days at a time and u could run into problems down the road.I have lunds e85 tune and switch back and fourth on a regular basis. When i know my car is going to sit i fill it with 93,my car also only has 3000 miles and is over a year old.

I just went with a 93 tune for this reason. Just decided it's not worth the money or worries to me. 91 or 93 will always be available and will never leave that worry in your head. if you aren't drag racing people on a daily basis, why cause yourself the hassle I say.

You guys do know that you can run 93 on a FF tune, right? Run 93 until you're ready to drive enough to use e85
Yeah, just figured I would almost never go out of my way to get it and if I did get it, I'm in the same boat, the car sits for weeks at a time. It's a great tune, just not for everyone.

I have almost 5k miles now since November 2015 . 4500 miles on only e85 . Zero drivability issues . I can run 91-e85-ms109 and any combination . The alcohol really helps in the 100+ weather . the price per gallon compared to 10-15 dollar per gallon race fuel is great .

I did some research and it's preferable to not let your car seat more than a week maybe a month max. E85 absorb water especially in hot and humid conditions. With e85 I would at least insure that I start my car once a week letting it idling for 2-3 minutes. It's also tougher on rubber and plastic. But like GSLSE20B said, e85 cooling effect seem to do wonder in hot temperatures!

personally, if the car is sitting a "ton", i would be running a 50/50 mix of e85 pump

there really is no reason Not to get the e85/flex tunes. since you can still run 93 or whatever normal gas. as soon as i decide on a CAI i plan on getting a flex tune. living in Nebraska I have E85 all around me. heck there is more E85 than 93 here!
