Saw a post on Facebook of a car hauler full of 17s going down the road.....waiting till the end of the week to get another update from deysha

I actually saw a full hauler going South on 275 just north of the Michigan/Ohio border on my way home from work. Hopefully they're starting to roll out quickly.

I just finished up a live chat from the ford website. My car status is now "in transit" but no ETA. I'm waiting to hear back from the dealership now. I'm in PA, so hopefully within a week. I'll post pictures when it arrives.

What' source are you using to check status? My est. Build date is tomorrow and the dealer said it's usually a best guess +-7 days. Then 6-8 weeks for delivery

i have been using my dealer mainly, but if you go on the website and build a car and then have it look for it at your local dealer, it shows what is in stock and what is on order(says dealer ordered on it). you can still click it to see info on the car. when you click to view the window sticker, if yours is close enough yet-they come out about a week before the build date-you can see on the bottom a row of numbers, mine says 1201606156710, that is the date the car will be built, forget the first number, second set is the year, 2016, next is month-06 and then day-15, the last 4 is the blend number which has something to do with where in line at the plant its built.

My dealer emailed me today. Should have a build date this week, and a VIN next week. The local Ford rep also got it bumped up to priority 01, if that makes any difference.

Not really. I ordered on 5-19. I had originally ordered about a week prior from a different dealer that is part of the same chain but they pissed me off. Ordered again from the one closer to my house and they cancelled the original order for me. Also the owner of the dealership was friends with my grandpa. All those things might be how I got to priority 01.

How much difference will that make? From some of the posts here it almost looks like priority numbers don't really matter much.

My 14 gt500 was moved to 01 and i ended up seeing it in 4wks from the day i ordered. 4wks on the dot.

So apparently it does make quite a difference? Mine won't be delivered 4 weeks from the order date as it's almost at that point now. But like I said, we are supposed to get a build date this week. I wonder how much longer I'd be waiting if it was still just at 10.

Ordered 5/6 priority was 130 IIRC and build 6/15, someone else posted that means mine will sit at the factory until there's room on the carrier.

You will get a VIN once the car gets scheduled to build...Ford hasn't pulled your order out of the order queue yet.

You could write a doctoratal dissertation on the rules Ford uses to determine the order cars get built in

Basically, your dealer gets its cars on a set priority based on how many Mustangs they sell-the more they sell, the sooner their cars come up.

Then, the cars that your dealer orders for their inventory usually take priority over custom orders. Then, if there's space left in your dealer's allocation pool, your car will come up to build (as long as no one else at your dealer has a higher priority order than you-your dealer assigns your order a priority of between 10 and 19, 10 being highest priority).

Build dates are subject to parts holds, too...let's say Ford's convertible top vendor can only build 2,000 tops a month (hypothetical). That means that if more than 2,000 verts are ordered that month, there will be a parts hold on any verts beyond 2,000, and the order won't get pulled until there's a fresh pool of convertible tops next month.

All in all, for 2016, I'd say most of us who custom ordered got our cars within 8-12 weeks (except people who ordered California Specials, as those cars get sent offsite to a specialty completion shop after they're built to apply the custom graphics!). Some people who ordered verts in the middle of winter also experienced really long waits this last year...

Wow thanks for the clarification man, I appreciate it. Is it weird my dealer said I don't have to deposit? I've heard many have to?

How is one touch window on the 2017 different than the one touch window on previous years? I thought that meant you can open and close the window with one touch. Or is this something else?
