Help! Got a puncture this morning

Not having a good start to the week! Pinprick hole in one of the front tyres this morning, tpms flashed up so i have pulled into a tesco carpark and sure enough air is pissing out. Almost completely flat now

Called my ford dealership today and they can get a tyre in this afternoon.

Do i go with that? Or try someone else?

Never used one of these repair kits before either. Thinking i should just use that and head home maybe? What a bloody mess

If in the tread area and not the tyre wall it should be easily repaired!
Never used the repair stuff but looks like it could be messy!
I would try to get the wheel off and puncture repaired locally and put it back on

If you use the repair kit in the car, it's only a get you home fix tbo. Then you will have to buy a replacement canister. You will still have to replace the tire. The dealership or if you can get a new one fitted elsewhere at a cheaper price is the only way to go. Personally I would save the repair gunk in the boot for a more desperate time.

I wouldn't use the gunk if it looks like it can be repaired. Do you have breakdown assist with your bank or anything?

Break down assist with Ford for the first year of ownership I thought? Call your dealer and check this.

If the puncture is within the tread pattern then it can most likely be repaired and saves you buying a new tyre.

A minor puncture in the tread area is an easy fix for most tyre depots....

As others have said, avoid the repair gunk. I used on a hire car on way back to Vegas recently and it made a right royal fecking mess! All over the alloy, and when you unscrew from valve likely to spray on you and car. Stains all round!!

Thanks for the advice guys. Luckily i was within walking distance from a halfords, young kad in there was brilliant, knew his stuff. Anyway, ended up using one of those cans with the foam (to save the Ford one for a real emergency). Pressure is holding, got to drive about 20 miles up a dual carriageway so should be ok

On the way to the dealership now who have ordered in another pirelli for this afternoon. Can be repaired but it does compromose the tyre somewhat so i think i will just fork out for a new one.

Any guesses for how much they will charge??? The right answer wins a prize

Jeeze, if we include ford 'Labour' price - Which is £80 an hour. £280 is my guess.
Tyre charged at £190, Labour at £80, Fitting and Alignment done at £10.

Some places are funny about repairing a tyre that's been filled with gunk.

Kristian..... A repair doesn't compromise the tyre.....:shrug:

ive spoken to loads of really good tyre fitters, (and they'd love to sell you a new tyre) but they say that a tyre, repaired to the proper standards by someone that knows what they're doing, is as safe as a new tyre..

They've been on courses, and there are proper standards that have to be met...

They will not repair any tyre if there is a chance of failure....

Your money your choice, but I'd be off to a reputable tyre place

It is big concern for me that there is no spare wheel option for the Mustang GT.

It is possible to order this for the Ecoboost

This Ecoboost space saver will not fit over the front brakes on the GT.

At my request my dealer checked if the GT rear wheel can be used on the front so that the space saver can be used on the rear and the rear wheel does fit at the front but Ford Technical has advised not to use a space saver spare wheel with GT.
