2016 mustang GT fastback manual triple yellow
Ordered DIB July 2015 with OTT stripes and alloy wheels.
Changed to Triple yellow with black roof and black wheels in October.Have the revised contract to evidence the change. All good, no problems advised at that time with the change.
Have spent the last week trying to get my NSC, and training the salesman as to how it all works, getting through his bluff"you won't have an NSC until 2 weeks before delivery" etc etc.
Finally, after the 4th phone call this week he found my NSC and rang me to say "is your car yellow or blue".........
He says he can see in the Ford system where my car was changed to yellow.....but changed back to/or at least is still coming as blue.
I waited patiently.
I don't want blue.
I don't want to be bumped to the end of the queue to get yellow.
Thinking Alfa 4c.

Alfa Romeo .... At your own risk... Personal experience, never again.

Id take the DIB if there is no easy way to get a triple yellow.

I know its personal preference but DIB is awesome..... Wrap in yellow if you have to. Id do anything to stay away from Alfa haha

Sorry tolerance of your problem and I hope you get it sorted.

It does seem to reinforce for the first time as a real example, that if you want to change your order you have to start over.

The bigger question is this. When is your car due for delivery?
Will this effect your delivery date?
I'll take blue off your hands...

I was told by the dealer that you can change colour and wheels etc 8 weeks before the scheduled build date.
One of the order was stuffed up in GC too. Someone ordered black and they got Race Red. They simply refused to take the delivery. Dealer then organised a black car for them from Melbourne.
I changed colour too but chased the dealer to confirm and acknowledge my email. Then asked them to forward me the evidence of color change confirmation received from ford.
After a bit of follow up I had the evidence that the color was changed.
Keep the evidence is the key. Verbal change requests don't work.
I feel sorry for you, but if your car is not scheduled to be built 8 weeks from now. You can still change color without affecting your built or delivery time.
At least there was one thing my dealer was right about.

DIB Mustang might get here quicker than yellow as they are phasing out DIB. Then again, they might change your order to Lightning Blue or whatever it's called. I've not much faith in any of this and every day I get closer to saying "enough".

The whole system is ridiculous. Everyone should be able to have an online record of when they ordered from the dealer, when the dealer put in the order to Ford (so that we could pressure them to put the order in), when the build date will be, delivery, etc., and we should be able to alter the order up until certain date thresholds, i.e., there is a final order submission date. But that would make too much sense wouldn't it?

My other suspicion is that dealers (possibly the bigger ones) are just putting the list in to Ford in dribs and drabs to ensure a steady turnover within their allocation, possibly in anticipation of the inevitable downturn in interest as the basic model ages and the market moves elsewhere.

It will be interesting to see what happens to supply when "peak Mustang interest" (kind of like peak oil) has passed, or perhaps Ford Australia has tried to forestall that happening by keeping the supply quite tight. If every second car you saw was a Mustang, would you still want one? Probably not for many of us.

There's good news and bad news for me....
Window sticker is out, car is coming in triple yellow as ordered, not blue as it was after the dealer stuffed up so that's good!!
But...it's coming with OTT stripes, nickel wheels and roof not painted black (arrgghh).Car is meant to be triple yellow, black wheels and roof, no stripes. It seems the dealer got the colour sorted but forgot about the other changes(made in Oct 2015).
Anyway, even though all the changes are on email and contract I'll just have to swallow hard and get on with it, hopefully I can get the wheels switched to black by the dealer(they say they will), I'll put a black wrap on the roof, peel off the OTT stripes and put a solid stripe on.
Close to pulling the trigger on a Kenne Bell 3.2l supercharger, along with half shafts, driveshaft, oil pump/lower timing chain gear (760-785 rwhp),the A$ is killing me(I read the trend wrong), think I'll just have to bite the bullet.
Undecided on exhaust and suspension, but will make some changes.

My window sticker says 2016 model year.I can't find the "blend date" mentioned in the sticky etis thread, but at the top of the sticker is 20160531, is this the blend/build date meaning 31/5/16?? All cars pre 2/6 were to be 2015 models...any thoughts on what I'm getting, 2015 or 2016????

Thanks to steerage250(Ian) for calling in a few weeks back to show me his beautiful stang, made my day!!

im selling my black wheels when the car arrives in late July. You could get the dealer to buy them from me or someone over there in WA and then sell your nickle ones?

If you are going for a 3.2L KB you will have to upgrade your rims and tyres anyway, the Pirelli's barely stuck with stock power

!
Re the black roof: Tell Ford you want the car as ordered and have them spray the roof black at their expense. They have a cutoff date for changes and it works both ways. It's not an unreasonable request. Make sure it's done before you take delivery. Organise it to be done as soon as the car arrives at your Dealership so you can take your mustang home without delay.

Build date: yes, 31/05/2016.
Model year: you'll have a 2016, I think the 2017 models start production on 2nd June. Best of luck

OK I'll keep it in mind, dealer tells me they have black wheels on a car coming they will swap out for me, but mines 3 months away from landing so anything could happen.

Hmmm that's a good call, I'll give it a try it's not like they've discounted the dealer margin much on these mustangs.
