Bumper Steer and wider front tire

Lowered my 2015 on FRPP track pack shocks/springs and I loved it. Installed 10" fronts and 275's in the front and notice a sugnificant increase in bump steer effect and movement while driving. Anyone else noticed this?

That is not bump steer. That is the wider tire up front tracking the road. It is a common problem when wider tires are put up front. They like to wonder all over the road. It make you feel as if your car is out of alignment.

I have 285's up front and on the roads around me you can watch the steering wheel wobble around if you'r not holding it.

Setting bumps steer is one of the most time consuming projects I have ever done. For a daily driver, it just isn't worth it.

You do realize that a bump steer kit is not a traditional tie rod end, that presents even more issues if the car is a daily driver. Bump steer has nothing to do with straight roads, so it really isn't relevant.

While I understand bump steer, which is an unsettling of the suspension, at speed while cornering, I do find that tire choice factors in. A soft side wall will exasperate the sensation. I find that Michelin tires will help alleviate the situation but I'm kind of a Michelin snob. Also look for tires with a center tread meaning a tire with a strip of rubber right down the middle. You drag guys ignore this advice.

What are your alignment settings? That could have a big impact.

Tires w/ a real square shoulder tramline more than tires where the tread wraps down toward the side wall and disappears giving a rounded shoulder.

Bump steer is the change in toe when the front suspension moves under load or rebound as the result of changes to front end geometry usually due to lowering. In extreme cases braking can be troublesome if a hard brake application is applied. Toe can change to toe out and car can pull right or left violently depending on road surface. Many cars that are lowered actually perform less well then stock height if the proper geometry is not maintained. Find a tech competent with setting up race cars and make him your friend for life. It won't be cheap but it is so worth it. Night and day difference from dealer/tire store/local garage where the motto frequently is "set the toe and let her go"
