Looks like 116 cars booked onto the next boat FAUST leaving in the 18th. All booked on the 13th.
Not mine tho. Sad smiley.
Fat lady not necessarily singing yet - Fedora bookings were done in two, maybe three tranches. Mine was in the last one two days before sailing.

Faust is the biggest car carrier in the world (or was )so should be plenty of room for a few more. It can take 8000 cars iir

Fedora had > 240 mustangs I think

Agreed.
If you remember, I had a wobble over the weekend before when most of the others had been booked on & mine hadn't. Someone told me to wait until the last day & sure enough, I got on (I didn't listen though, like a berk).

I hope this helps you mate...... try to relax (yeah, right! :frusty:)

Mine appeared after the ship had sailed so don't panic. :)

Nice! Was this confirmed by Karen and Stacey? My car was on the Tulane too. Would save me emailing them to check.

Time to phone the dealer and let him know...
Yep, Stacey confirmed. It's in Southampton now! I'm literally 30 miles away visiting family too...

Autostar is unloaded and on route to Spain today which means our cars are on the docks in Southampton! :D

My tracking info says "delivered from" as well, so I assumed mine was in Southampton too. Then I got an email from Stacey saying that my car was going to go to Immingham first, before going on to NI.

That's left me a bit confused. Is it in Zeebrugge or Southampton or Immingham or at sea? Why would it go to Immingham, which is on the wrong side of England? Is it going there by boat or transporter?

All questions for the Ford girls I suppose, but can't beat a good forum vent :headbonk:

Transporter to Immingham, boat to NI, id imagine.....

Immingham is one of the biggest car import/export ports in the UK, so makes reasonable sense that an NI bound boat will go from there.

Immingham's on the east coast though, so about 1000 miles around the top of Scotland to NI by sea. Liverpool to Belfast is maybe only 200 miles.

Unless Immingham is just being used as a holding depot and the car will go from there to a port on the west coast by transporter.

Depends where the established routes are though....

Hitching a ride on a slow boat around the top or bottom of the UK will likely be a lot cheaper than establishing a dedicated 'Mustang Route'.

Wouldnt surprise me if lots of Fords come in via Immingham and then go on to to other ports around the UK. Delivery is slow as Ford use the cheapest (and therefore established) routings to get products to destination. Timescale is not really important from their PoV.

FWIW a friend of a friend works in vehicle distribution/delivery (albeit for BMW/MINI, not Ford) and ive talked to him about this.

Everything is pared back cost wise, from the bare minimum staff at the ports to using the cheapest trucks possible.

If its £1 cheaper to send a car a certain way, even if its longer for the customer, they will do it. Multiply that £1 by the amount of cars sold and it becomes big, big money.

Ford, BMW, MINI (any car manufacturer) just dont care that we have to wait! Its already quite amazing that in the UK Ford have set up this email service with Karen and Stacy - that's above an beyond just about any other mainstream manufacturer.

So, just to confirm, you find out if your car is on a boat by putting the full VIN into 'cargo ID' on the WWL track and trace page - as here?

Yup, if it is scheduled on the shipping line, it will show the booking code and vessel details.
