You will love that #NoBeltLag :)
There is no wrong when it comes to boost... But I have to give ProCharger a hard time here:thumbsup:

Compare my graph of the quick spool 55's on about 10 lbs of boost and pump gas to the whipple graph on 12lbs and pump gas. Mines making 100ish more ft lbs of torque at 4k than most PD blower cars. Also at 5k it's making almost 200rwhp more and at 6k over 100hp more! It makes about 650rwhp from 5000 up, no need to spin it to 7500 to get that high HP number:headbang:

And then compare my low boost of 5 lbs to this low boost stage 1 pro charger car. At 3k we are making about the same power and torque, at 4k I'm making 50 more hp and 100+ more tq. I see no turbo lag here...;)

Bringing this one back to life since I kinda fell into a F1A head unit. So educate the uneducated here...please. I was going with a simple Stage ll kit install when things went a bit South and now i have the Stage ll kit with a F1A head unit on the way. Actually in the middle of the install. Is it simple P1 off and F1 on? It has a 5" pulley which I think is 12-13psi...wasn't planning on that much boost at first but this is where I have landed. I do have ID1000's and BAP, Lund is tuning. Any insight would be helpful.

I think you're right...anyone have other pulley sizes for less boost? Is this a streetable setup?

The largest pulley they make is a 5.25 but it won't clear our hood, so what I'm gonna do is run the 5" pulley but use a wastegate set up set at say 10 psi or so to bleed off the extra boost. This way I can adjust the boost while in the car with a boost controller and keep the boost levels down till I get my block sleeved. This method will also increase low and midrange power. This set up is curtious of Sam at coastal chassis dyno

Will do, still got a few parts to upgrade first to handle it and also some homework to what size wastegate I'll need etc. Hope to have it done within the year but we shall see, wish I made more money haha

Are there any advantages to the f1a over the other units other than its ability to make rediculous power?

Not really other than the step up ratio from what I understand so power comes on sooner than what say a d1 will. And the f1a at 12 psi will be flowing more air than what a d1 will at 12 psi. So I'm also hoping to reach the same hp that a d1 will using less boost. And if I ever wanna chase 1000 rwhp I have the option to

F-1A and D-1SC would have nearly idental boost curves.

The F-1A-94 however is a different unit, more of a drastic "curve" to the boost curve. "Peaky" as one would say. However what it lacks down load, it makes up for greatly up top. Hence why so many records are now held with that blower. But for the street, the standard F-1A is the best way to go for 90% of our customers. :)

Thanks!

Necro, for a question for those that went f1a, how are they running? It seems impossible the f1a and d1sc would have the same curve but what the hell do I know.

How does it compare withe the D1x now? For a gt350 looking to play in the 7-10 psi range what is recommended.

They have very similar curves, since the impellers are related to each other.
One just moves more air per revolution.

Same curve, but i expect the step up ratio would make the f1a feel faster, provided you can support the increased flow up top?

Isn't the D1 a 4.1 step ratio while the F1a is a 5.x??
