Got an out of the blue email from Stacey today saying my car is in Zeebrugge being cleared. Always nice to get updates without asking. They really do good work there.

Hopefully getting onto a boat next week then bound for UK soil.

And now the worry on finance approval and my deposit card being declined starts again. I really shouldnt worry but I hate not knowing lol. I fully expect my card to be cloned and account emptied the day before knowing my luck.

I expected calls from my bank asking to authorise the payment of 30 odd grand (as I paid in cash for the car), put pin it, went through without an issue... Madness !

What finance deal have you been offered ? I have been offered 5.8%APR

My finance deal was very good.

Out of the blue, my eldest Daughter remortgaged her house and put the money in my bank - bless her.

I'll be going with Ford PCP although I intend to keep it at the end. My main issue is variable deposit at the moment. Currently remortgaging the house and having work done that seems to be eating more cash in fees than expected. I intended originally to go about ÂŁ10k deposit then dropped to ÂŁ6k and now looking more at ÂŁ5k lol. Tbh I'm not bothered by a higher monthly but just worry myself at approval with the ever diminishing deposit. That said I have had large finance from Ford before so I am in their system and have never missed a payment on anything ever. My record is clean and in very good shape but I just hate computer decisions out of principal. They rarely make logical sense lol

I feel your pain!
Have a clean credit report
Have almost got the Max deposit
Home owner with no mortgage
And I'm still panicking that I won't get accepted.
Have kept quiet on social media about the car coming so hopefully people would forget I even ordered lol.
Will just say I rejected it as it was damaged lol

Wish they just did the credit check on the day of deposit

I'm sure you'll be fine. As long as your income is high enough to pay the finance numbers back, you're good. Or you have a substantial cash sum in your accounts etc... ;)

Don't worry, dealers like you to put as low a deposit as possible as they get more of your money on credit. Furthermore a PCP is in fact a type of HP so the finance company always owns the car in case you default and finally you are more likely to take out a fresh PCP once your 3 years is up as you won't have to find a large sum for deposit and by that time you've already got used to the higher payments.
They can't lose, believe me, you won't get turned down.

Don't worry it'll be fine, only be worried if your car has an issue after you've waited so long and tracked it across the waters.....heart breaking and I wouldn't wish it on anyone.

This is true. What they really hate is if you pay in full with no finance.

Yeah my in laws have just gone through this with Audi. They wanted to buy the car in cash but got a huge discount on finance. So took that and paying the finance off in 3 months time. It's a bizarre game. Gone are the days of getting a better service telling a salesman your a cash buyer
