Everyone with Tuner Supercharger Kits....

Did you pass emissions testing (OBDII only not visual) without some nefarious acts (e.g. so it passed at a ford dealership and not some back alley shop or you paid someone off)? I like some tuner kits (whipple and vmp) but can't take the risk of spending all that money to fail emissions and not be able to drive the car on the street.

As long as you do not throw headers on it, you are fine. Your not going to throw a CEL. Kooks make "green" catted headers that eliminate the CEL as well. Either way, on these 2 options, you will have zero issues with emissions. Many will say you can go regular catted or no cats, and use foulers/extenders and still not throw a CEL. I personally will go green catted Kooks when I eventually add headers.

Whipple will pass with flying colors it's 50 State legal.

If you have your stock cats your good.

If you have a off road cat pipe or hi-flo cat you just need to make sure you have no CEL and if so use de-fowlers to trick the PCM there are efficient cats.

I used Kooks "green" hi- Flow cats and have not once seen a CEL

I have no doubt about that but was courious if anyone was passing with tuner kits.

Whats the difference? The tune shouldn't throw a CEL. Or it's a pretty bad tune. Or do you mean with the tumer kit you are "tuning out" the CEL and hoping to pass emissions?

From a past experience with my 11' mustang a tune alone can result in failed emissions even with no CEL's. The tune messes with readiness monitors. When I failed before, it was a readiness issue. I called the tuning company and they swore up and down there was no reason it should have failed, but it did. Only mods on that car were tune, intake, and axle backs. Not going to mention the tuners name publically but they are well known.

Just want to know who is passing with tuner kits. Thanks.

Well.. thats a shitty tune. I know not all of the SC's right now are 50 state emissions legal. So you may have to narrow down to a few SC's. But a decent tune, on an expected 50 state emissions legal system, you def shouldn't have a problem. Especially on a Lund tune, if you chose that route. Assuming your keeping the OEM cats in place, or going green cats. A lot of tuned guys on here passing emissions no problem.

That's when the tuner were shutting the rear O2 off and stuff now when you speak with them or the ones I have spoken to everything is left on so if you loose the cats be ready to play with foulers and such

Reviving this thread. So has anyone with tuner kits passed emissions. Im talking a set like lund tune, id 1000 injectors, intake, bap, different pulley, etc. None of the previous post said yes or no.

Anytime the battery resets or you flash the vehicle, the OBD-II readiness monitors are reset. You have to drive the car city and highway through various conditions before they become ready. I've seen it take up to 100 miles of driving to get them all set.

I had a car that I tuned myself with an sct pro racer package. Presuming that counts as a tuner kit?
