Black Exterior Plastics

After wash/wax the other day, I noticed that some of the black plastics around the car (spliter, area around mirrors, etc..) have a white(ish) smear on them. Is this dried wax? I don't think I got wax on it at all, but I could be mistaken. Anyways, whatever the cause I want to get rid of it. Can anyone recommend a good product to get these plastics back to their dark black color. I have CG VRP Dressing, should that do the job?

Vinegar will take the wax off (as it's probably dried wax) and I used Aerospace 303, works great

I feel like a broken record right now, but a pencil eraser will take off any wax residue easily.

Then dress it with your favorite trim dressing. VRP is pretty good, but it doesn't last long. I prefer silicone based dressings for their longevity.

Also, Aerospace 303 is real good as well. I only use it for interior plastics, but it would work fantastically for exterior plastic as well.

Yep as previously recommended, I can vouch for Aerospace 303 to treat/protect any plastic trim. I use it and love it.

After you remove the wax residue and clean the area, try Opti-Bond Tire Gel.
Works great for all black, plastic trim and rubber.
It will leave a rich, satin luster.

Put CQuartz UK Coating on all my plastic, looks great and the water slides right off.

CarPro Erasor. Works great. The dreaded haze. The other method is don't get wax on the trim.

Blue tape it. (I do)
Use products that do not haze

I found that Aerospace 303 is great for protecting black plastic from turning grey/white from waxes. But you need to put the 303 on before waxing! 303 doesn't clean off wax very well as an after product. Try vinegar as suggested above.

303 protectant gets my vote also since it offers UV protection. Turtlewax Ice Spray wax works great also and won't leave white marks.

After washing and drying, I apply the 303 with a sponge to plastic trim and let it dry for a few minutes. Wax just wipes right off without any residue.
