Well I've finally picked her up, everything seems ok so far although I've not had a real good look around, I stuck the rear number plate on wonky so that needs adjusting, I guess these sticky pads you stick them on with won't damage the paint when I pull it off?

Now to the worrying news...well it had to happen, problems seem to follow me around, everything was fine on my 6 mile journey home until I got on my estate, there's a number of speed humps and as I approached the first hump in third gear I slowed and changed down into second and then powering up slightly as I eased her over the hump a strange sound started coming from somewhere up front underneath , It sounded like a bag of rice being spun in a metal tin, any ideas anyone?

Well firstly, Congrats on getting your car.
The noise is an odd one. No idea what it could be but at least you can be sure it'll be fixed as much of a pain as that is. The car should certainly be able to cope with speed humps.
You should be fine removing the plate. Give it a bit of heat to soften the adhesive. Hopefully its not on with an excessive amount of tape.

Thanks guys, as for the noise (and i'm no expert) but it sounds like it's the gear box or drive shaft. It only made the sound when I was pulling away very slowly and not stopped, it's like a very fine tinny rattle, it's not the sort of sound of a heat shield rattling as I've had that before on cars.

The noise wouldn't sound like this resonator rattle in the video?

Couldn't just have been that 2nd didn't fully engage straight away? I've had that on other cars when I wasn't positive enough with the shift, though it would usually pop out of gear then, rather than slipping in.

No, it only did it when I started moving, the only way I can explain it is it sounded like I had an empty coke can full of dried rice grains that were being swirled around.

After it first did it it kept doing it, only heard it in 1st and 2nd, not sure about the other gears as I was driving slow on the estate and didn't go into other gears.

Many congrats mate. Look forward to seeing the pics.
Sunday tomorrow so dealer shut, but I'd inform them even if it stops tomorrow. At least it'll be logged in case it does come back.
