No Surging at all .. In fact it is better and smother than my last tune , and my last tune was really good ..:thumbsup:

I got to put a few more miles on it today , let me tell you the 562 foot pounds of TQ is really strong ..What a difference from the old tune ..60 MPH roll on to 120 MPH happened like a flash !!! Friggen pulls hard right to 7300 :) ... Cold started just fine today and hot start was great also ..Maybe the PCM needed a bit of driving time to adjust ? New tires will be here next week and then hit the track and get some numbers ..

Old tune with 9 PSI at 6800 550 HP and 469 TQ , running out of fuel at 6800 ... Shift point was set to 6800 to be safe ..

New tune with ID1000 injectors and a JMS Bap 604 HP and 562 TQ ... Power flat lines at 7000 to 7400.. We didn't take it higher than 7400 . Shift point are now set at 7300 ..

This is a A6 car so numbers will be down a little from a M6 car on the dyno ..

So I picked up 54 HP and a whopping 93 foot pounds of TQ ..
we ended up with 18 deg timing total at full boost ... Extra TQ came from more timing and setting the TQ command in the mid range .. Even at 18 on pump gas it was not pulling timing but my tuner didn't want to push it any more on pump gas ..

Later this year he is going to make me a E85 tune , he feels it will add a bunch more HP over the pump gas .. He would like me to dump the BAP , he said he has seen to many burned up pumps for the BAP ..He wants me to add a Fore fuel system .. He also want me to toss the cats , he felt there was an extra 30+ HP by dumping the cats ..

I was warned about slow starts with the ID1000 injectors and sure as shit it is a little slow to start ..Hot start is not to bad but cold start is a little iffy .. I guess I'll just have to get used to it ..

Well back to the track and see what it runs now :)

Seems so , that is the reading I'm getting from guy that did the tune .. I find it funny that Procharger told me it would only pick up 1 PSI from the 3.70 to 3.50 pulley but I ended up with 4 psi gain .

My factory boost gauge stopped working after the last tune ...It was topping out at 9 PSI but noticed it will only go to 3 PSI now after the new tune .. So I guess I'm going to install a aftermarket boost gauge ..

I'm heading back to the tuner Weds because I installed my Cat Delete pipes , he wants to recheck the tune plus I have a bit a idle problem.. The idle wants to hunt a bit ( 50 to 100 RPMS at times ) He said he could fix it .. I think the cat deletes might drop the boost a bit but I should from what I have been told pick up 30 to 40 HP with the car deletes .. We will find out shortly .. If it does it should be pretty close to 650 HP and pick up some extra TQ too .. :D

Zero traction on the stock tires and wheels .. It does ok if you go from a 60 roll on a good road and leave the traction control on .. But from a dead stop it's like being on ice ... Even at a 40 roll it turns into a tire frying contest .. I have Weld wheels and DRs for the track but I don't use them on the street ..

My old tuner said he saw 13.05 PSI @ 7300- 7400 on the new 3.50 pulley.. My new tuner guy that I got the last tune from didn't give me a boost reading and I forgot to ask ..I'm going back to the tuner Weds and get him to print out all the runs and give me a boost reading ..

Well I didn't get it back on the dyno today , the tuner was to busy ... So I went to the track and made a few runs and did some data logging ..Data logs looked ok to me ( but what do I know ? ) I sent them to my tuner and see what he has to say ..My guess is the cat deletes did help but I was running in a really bad air ( DA ) Density Altitude: 1755 feet
Relative Density: 94.97 %

It ran the same numbers tonight as it did in better air we had a few weeks back , so I guess the cat deletes made up for the bad air ..

Last time to the track the car was shifting at 7300 RPMs and that was where my tune guy set the shift points ...For some reason the car now is shifting at 6500 on the 1-2 shift and on the 2-3 shift it's shifting at 6800 ..Anyone had this problem???? This is twice we have set the shift points up and it always goes back down to 6500 .. This has happened with two different tuner shops so I don't think it the tuner causing the problem .. ?

The short shifting is tune related, have your tuner check it out.

In normal single cam V-8 that holds true.

But on cars with VCT cams, the tuners can make massive changes in boost, just by how they set up the cam angles. :) However at the end of the day boost is a measure of restriction... moving 1 pulley size, only moves a given amount of extra CFM, no matter what engine its placed on. ;)

Hope that makes sense. :)
