2017 Order - Dealer Doesn't Know How to Get DORA?

So I have my VOC for my 2017 GT350 order and asked the dealer for a DORA. He sent me a status update that shows the order but not a DORA. When I pressed him he said he didn't know how to call it up in the system.

Any dealers out there that can post some instructions so I can tell him how to do this? Thanks

I have been looking on this forum to long! Ground hog year. I remember when these types of topics were coming up in late 2015. The funny thing is I still don't have my car. Good luck with your DORA I know nothing about them, just thought I would vent a little.

I tried to do a search on DORA but didn't find out the "how to" just mainly threads about what they looked like and when people got theirs.

It seems that some dealers use a system that doesn't do the traditional DORA any more. Mine wasn't able to produce mine, ever. However, I have a VIN and a build date now, so not getting a DORA doesn't automatically mean anything.

If it means anything... I didn't get a DORA with my order either. My dealer, in the Midwest, had no idea what one was. I felt better when he sent my VIN 3 months later and felt even better when my car arrived at my house in a covered transport.

You're good with the VOC, it should have your last name on it. To look things up later when the order is pulled, you just need the "Order No" and the Dealer#. Its probably Priority 19 = customer order.

My car is arriving Saturday, after nine months of waiting. Many here have had the same unease about the process.

That's the highest priority for a retail order. In other words, it'll be the 1st retail order pulled for that dealership if they have more than 1 allocation.

Thanks! This was off my VOC from my local dealer, Bowker Ford in Oklahoma. I believe they only have one allocation but I'm not sure about that. They have been great to work with. They had sold their '16 allocation to a forum member here but were told by the zone rep he thought he could get them another one so I placed an order back in early February. That fell through but they offered me their '17 allocation for the same deal, MSRP w\ 1K deposit. Now we wait ... again. BTW, they're calling my VOC a DORA.

Your order goes from VOC to DORA when Ford accepts it. As long as there is an allocation to back it up, you're on your way.
