Hello, one of the forum members linked me this topic.
My question is, what is the rough estimate in costs should i be looking at if i buy out of state and register the GT350 in CA?
I do know that a private transport will be between $800-$1600 depending on where and how the vehicle is delivered.

If I remember it correctly the above calculator was accurate to the penny of what I was told at DMV.

Make a registration appointment at your DMV. Show up early and get your vehicle inspected (form REG 31 filled out by DMV official) prior to your appointment. Have your smog check certificate. Have your registration form completed (REG 343) before heading to DMV. Have your fees ready. I was in and out in under an hour.

The only thing I would recommend is that you pay for all the registration fees and California taxes your self at the DMV, instead of letting your out of state dealer collect those and register the car on your behalf. You have to go to the DMV anyways for the inspection so you can get it all done the same day.

I made the mistake of letting the dealer collect the registration and taxes. Which has dragged out getting my title and permanent operating permit. I still had to pay the registration fee at the DMV to get a temporary operating permit. So now the dealer has to reimburse me for that.

Is there an official form or waiver paper stating that you will be taking care of the car registration and taxes on your own?

not that I am aware of, but it may depend on the state where you buy. I would check with the selling dealer.
