If Ford were reading this Forum, or any other, they would have rectified the misinformation situation and would Ford Aus and dealer confirm build Sept. 17 with Sync 2 and Competition Orange, as per my NSC code. and order.
This was confirmed again last week.
If it's being built in September why wouldn't it have SYNC 3?

My NSC and order is for a car which is MY16.
You can't change that, so a lot of people who are getting their hopes up about Sync 3, who ordered before 30/11/15 are going to be disappointed.
I wish I was wrong but I have had this confirmed several times.

I would really check where your getting your info from.. Which I am assuming is from your dealer?

Anything built after june 2nd will be a 2017 built car (& will definitely have sync3), this has been confirmed by ford fb and also in the media press. I don't think ford will build a car in September and give it MY16 badge. If your dealer still says you are getting a competition orange, as it is a discontinued colour, you will have a build before june 2nd, as I believe after this date ford won't be making any more stangs that colour.
If you are set for a September build date still(which I doubt), most likely you will be contacted soon to have your colour changed.
Please correct me if I am wrong..

There is nothing Ford Australia can do to have cars built after 2 June to be built as MY16 and keep the discontinued colours (and SNYC2). The production line (and paintshop) will only be building MY17 cars from the 2nd of June. They (Ford USA) are and will not have MY16 and MY17 being built at the same time.
Those (including me) affected by the discontinued colours will be contacted by Ford advising the colours we have chosen are no longer available and they offer to change (amend the contact) colour or cancel the order.
I thought by now everyone learnt not to trust anything the dealership tells you, as they still have no idea.

It's a little different to this case, we all know each new model adds features. Sync 3 had been available to ford from the day the first Aus mustang was made. And it is going to be the platform for at least the next few years until "sync 4". They chose not to put it in, even though the US production line was installing it. Many of us had no idea when our mustang was going to be built or have already experienced delayes of many months on top of what info we were originally given. For example I was promised the day I ordered an April delivery. Now my car is being delivered in late July and has been built a whole 50 days prior to getting sync 3 included. I'd honestly have waited that extra time if it meant I wasn't put at the back of the queue given my order had already been delayed 3 months. The issue would be less frustrating if they would at least give us an avenue to upgrade, as it is clearly possible.

What happens, when they do other changes, maybe a facelift in a few years ?

There will a melt down here !

Really can't trust even FordAus OR the dealer - they just spout whatever BS Ford US feeds them. It's always subject to change.

FWIW though, my Nov15 order in CO is being bumped to before June - I.e. May build so it will have Sync 2.

my 2c - Just wait a little while and if it really is a CO order it's likely to get built much earlier than Sept... Ford AU just doesn't know it yet.

In other words, you either change your colour and get sync 3 plus a wait, or you stick to your guns. Can't really win. Which is more important to you I guess?

I Think Ford should offer a discounted upgrade option from Sync2 to Sync3 especially to the buyers who placed order before price increase.
That would indeed be a nice thing to do, but I doubt it will happen. A similar thing happened when I bought my current Merc A250, Shortly after mine was built there was a slight model change that gave a slightly different grille and a hardware upgrade of the COMAND infotainment unit that gave additional features.

The reality is that this happens all the time with all makes of cars.

I'm not really sure there's anything one can do, other than elect not to purchase the car due to the superseded spec.

When was your car originally scheduled? I.e how much forward did your order get moved?

Car was ordered Sept.15 and as of last week build date was Sept 16 and I was told to ring back in August for an update.
So I have been moved forward approx. 4 months.
With that bump, my car will probably be delivered before it was scheduled to be built.
