"Ordered" by the client with the dealer OR by the dealer with Ford ?

Ordered mine with dealer and paid deposit on 28 Nov 2015 but dealer Vista order date is 18 Jan 2016.
Yes my vista order date is quite a few months after my deposit paid and actual date 'I' ordered the car as well.

I can confirm the limited numbers for employees (note these are FoMoCo employees, not dealership employees).
It is 5 per month. I ordered 10 April 2015 and only got my VIN about 10 days ago.
A little disappointed to have waited this long only to miss out on Sync 3 by 6 weeks! (Estimated build date 25 April according to Deysha, still has placeholder date on ETIS)

Orders after June 2016 should be getting the MY17 cars, anything up till the cutoff will still get the MY16 cars.

Builds with sync 2 finish on June 2 regardless of when you ordered.

My order was originally estimated to be built in April, but Ford Facebook didnt realise it was an emp. order. When they checked, now the new estimate build date is in June :frusty:.
On the positive side... you should get SYNC 3 at least. :D

I am more of a techie guy and I love my gadgets. I missed sync 3 initially by few days but then Ford decided to build it even sooner. So, totally lost on sync 3 and I am wondering if it be worth to get a replacement later. Anyone else thinking about it? Not sure if it's my craziness for a gadget :headbonk:

There will always be something better/newer on the horizon. SYNC2 is perfectly fine at what it does, so I don't really care. If I do care enough one day I'll just replace it with a SYNC4 unit or whatever is around at the time. Aftermarket seems fine for this.

If I can buy a sync3 head unit from that OEM seller for less than $3000 I will probably do it. The place has tested it and said it works, just waiting on stock now.

Edit: looks like they have stock now. Only $45USD for shipping to aus as well. Works out at $2707 at current exchange rates. I'll wait until someone with a Euro or Aus car does it to ensure it works fine but then I will likely do it for mine.

Yeah, I'm pissed that I'll miss it by a few weeks. Existing owners have said that sync 2 is fine, but it could have and should have had sync 3 from the beginning. I love to have the latest thing and I love my tech, but I figure there will be constant upgrades and that there will always be something that you could wait for. Just before the next generation model comes out they'll have proper tribar DRLs and sequential indicators and all the lane warning / cross traffic stuff that the European car makers (and probably the Japanese and Korean too) are already implementing.

If Ford remain committed to RHD I regard this model as a beta, it will take them a few years to get it properly correct (by which I mean we get the same options as in the US, including engines).

Upgrading the head unit remains a possibility. It has made me question how much to mod this car if I am just going to keep it on a 3 year lease, rather than the original intention of a long-term purchase.

Nevertheless, I want the damn thing! I really want it! Like yesterday!

I Think Ford should offer a discounted upgrade option from Sync2 to Sync3 especially to the buyers who placed order before price increase.

Because its not fair that a large number of early buyers who ordered the cars without even looking at it, be left out without this option while a few late bookings with same price are offered sync3 and early build.

Nothing against the ones getting Sync3, happy about them but I think Ford Australia should seriously consider it.

And despite all their Ts & C's blah blah.. its against consumer rights to offer a better/upgraded product to only some of the consumers, while they both paid same price. Makes it worse for, whose car will be built on 01-06-2016.

I don't know if we will have to get together and write to Ford, or Ford is reading the comments on this Forum, and wants to jump onboard and offer some kind of solution, without making it a very lengthy discussion.

If Ford were reading this Forum, or any other, they would have rectified the misinformation situation and would have rectified the lack of updates to buyers.
My car was ordered Sept. 16
Ford Aus and dealer confirm build Sept. 17 with Sync 2 and Competition Orange, as per my NSC code. and order.
This was confirmed again last week.
