Forget the 2017, I'm ready to see what changes are in store for the 2018 model year. I've taken this car about as far as I want to and I'll be ready to do something by the end of next year. Trying to decide if I'll get a used 15 GT and go FI or get a new 2018 GT and stay relatively stock.

I see a lot of discussion/speculation on the Mach 1, but what about the models for us normal folk? Will the coyote remain relatively the same? Will they up the displacement for the Ecoboost? Or is all of this being saved for the 2020s?

So far all I've heard is a possible 10speed auto trans.

It's only a year out, we have a whole forum section for the Mach 1 but that's really only relevant to a lucky few of us. I'm not really interested in cosmetic differences but I do want to know how they will tweak performance numbers. I doubt they will wait all the way until 2020 because the Mustang is really already behind. All the 2015 really did was upgrade to IRS and tach on 15hp

Probably a small hp bump to 450 or something, cosmetic changes, 9 or 10 speed auto that is being developed with GM. I think there may already be a GM product confirmed production with it so it could theoretically make the refresh. Then again the tranny may be saved for the S650, I wouldn't bet on it making the refresh

I wouldn't hold my breath for anything more than that on the GT

My wishlist....

My guess:

Styling tweaks front n rear (new fascias and lamps)
Hopefully a bump in power (450-460 in the GT)
10-speed auto (already confirmed for the '17 Raptor and ZL1 Camaro)
MagneRide option
Would love to see additional aluminium panels

The '18MY F150 has already been spotted in camo, so hopefully it won't be long before the '18MY Mustang is caught in a similar fashion :)

I do know for a fact that the 2018 Mustang GT comes after the 2017 Mustang GT.

Glad I could help.

Behind in performance, but not in sales numbers.. Mustang is blowing others out in sales numbers. I wouldn't be expecting any huge/major changes.. it ain't broke
