I will be running Steeda Linear Sport springs soon. They give a one inch drop all around. I have gotten some solid advice I believe being told that while a bump steer kit is a good idea at that level, it is not "necessary" . I will have the car performance aligned after the install.

I will be running Steeda sways as well.

Opinions?

Thank you

IMO the mustang has awful bump steer and it only gets worse.

I got the Steeda kit and it was absolutely night and day difference.

It worked extremely well at the road course as well as the street.

I'm very surprised that more people don't run it.

What springs were you using?

This seems to be one of those hit or miss things. Some people say it isn't needed and some say it makes a difference. Part of the problem is a lot of shops don't even know how to adjust it correctly. It may be useful and some didn't get the benefit due to install/adjustment. The "general" rule is 1" or less it shouldn't be needed. However as Anthony said, the Mustang's bump steer is bad to start with. I know on my 2010, with a 1" drop it was bad. When I finally got the bump steer kit installed I was amazed at the difference.

Thanks, I guess I'll be doing that now. Not sure why I put it off. David@Steeda!? Here comes another order.

Not afraid to say, it was David that suggested I get the kit. I completely trust that advice. I just wanted to get an idea of who may be running the product.

My past Mustangs, I just settled for so-so ride and handling because they were mainly street/strip cars. The 15' is meant for the backroads and insane curves we have out here in WNC. That and I do not want a ill handling turd when I am paying this much for a car. LOL

MIne bump steers pretty bad at OE ride height, I can't imagine it worse being lowered. It's terrible set on SPORT steering.

The average driver doesn't know what bumpsteer really is or how to diagnose it, let alone know what to expect from a bumpsteer kit.

Lethal - if/when you know you need this mod and know why, it can be done completely separately from everything else (save for the static toe check and possible adjustment afterward - and that can even be DIY'ed). You do NOT have to do the B/S kit now.

yes, please explain what is bump steer
Before I do that, perhaps people reading this thread could tell me if they think they've noticed it, and what it was that they noticed. Including a clear description of the pavement conditions.

Mine is ridiculous bump steer (at least to my very critical tastes) and without having done a single thing to my suspension yet, I would put this on if I wasn't in the middle of trying to find a place to live and packing my shyte after selling my house! I get bumpsteer especially when my front wheel falls into a divit in the road (like a dip in the road caused by years of trucks driving over that area, for example) and either my tire is running on the edge of that or the divit is not wide enough to accomodate the whole tire, so that tire "bump steers" the car in some unpredictable direction. Usually happens at 30-ish range speed or when I'm accelerating fairly quickly and just catch the wrong part of the road. It's not every day, but when it happens it's a surprising amount of influence the bumpsteer has. Could be poor toe alignment, too, I guess.
