Based on these numbers, the z/28 weighs 88lbs less than a base 1SS. Losing (not loosing) weight from a street-intent 1SS to a track-intent z/28 is really not that hard, because people will not be looking for the same level of ride quality, cabin noise, etc. from a z/28 that Joe-layperson would expect from a regular run-of-the-mill 1SS. My electronics package R weighed in at 3701 lbs with almost a full tank of fuel. There is still a lot of weight that Ford could have chosen to take out, but they didn't. I, for one, am glad they didn't because it make the car much more pleasurable to drive.
BTW, this same site lists a 1LE-packaged car at 3875lbs. How is it that it weighs that much less than a regular 1SS?
