Here's our Kiwi example.

It was ordered 30th August, ready 9th March though not collected until 11th March.

I'm not sure what happened there as we were originally told to expect May delivery, then suddenly it was mid-March and eventually early March.

This looks stunning. Only thing I don't like is the advertising around the number plates. These aftermarket stripes work really well.

Thanks - this was always the vision we had for the DIB from when we were choosing the colour, but it was only yesterday that we got them fitted.

I don't like just the metal NZ plates without frames. Plain black would probably be the best solution, but I haven't got any to hand and I'm not anti-dealer frames enough to have bought any (yet at least). The plates also only went on yesterday and the jury is still out on replacing them with Euro size ones.

I think the larger ones work in with the overall traditional US-style theme.

Thanks . If you checked in to our section around November last year you wouldn't think we had great attitudes. Some very unhappy people haha

I would love to see DIB in real life. It looks great in the sun.

You probably have seen the colour; it's available on recent Fiesta, Focus, Mondeo and Kuga models. The Mustang looks good in it with the pronounced body contours, but for me it wasn't right with the black wheels and needs a lighter colour to lift it.

What you've done to the wheels also lifts it.

Not sure I've noticed the colour on other Fords. Will keep a look out.

I played with a side view in Photoshop, putting the stripe on and initially changing the wheel colour to a blue centre with silver rim, but my partner wasn't keen on that look. While I was playing around I accidentally set it up with a silver rim and black centre, which I liked. Even better so did my partner (as it's her main car), so we went with that to see how it would look. It's just a pinstripe around the lip, but I agree, and 'lift' was exactly the word I used when I was telling her how it looked before she saw it.

We were in Wellington for our company conference in July last year, I recognise the split in the hill from earthquake activity.
Love DIB - am doing my 1965 Restomod in it:

Enjoyed our two weeks getting around the north island - will have to try the south next time.

Cheers

Just back from the detailers - very happy with how she looks and feels.

Detailer (Adam of http://www.eyecandydetailing.com.au/) made the comment that the paint was of high quality with virtually no orange peel like he often sees in new cars, even big dollar euros.

That Race Red looks very smart, really pops out.

I think the question was asked earlier on paint thickness my detailer measured when he looked at my car earlier this month.

Bonnet and front fenders are aluminium and measured 75 to 105 microns. Steel panels were all 150 microns on average.

He also said paint was healthy.

Mine gets the Ceramic Pro treatment early in April.
